I'll gladly wait a few weeks until the crowds die so I won't have to listen to some F'ing kid talk on their cell phone or kick the back of my chair the entire movie.

I went for matinee to watch the Avengers because it looked good. That's how I am with all media. I pay for the good stuff. Last edited by ant0n; 05-08-2012 at 03:44 PM.. |

Rumble, young man, rumble. These are interesting times we live in. Punctuation is key. Fruit is nature's candy.

I went to see Avengers Friday with the Fandango B1G1 Visa deal. First time I've ever gone to see a movie on opening weekend. Me and my GF got there about an hour early to make sure we got good seats, which we did. These two teenage girls came and sat down in front of us and handed some snack bar stuff over the seats to their parents who were sitting next to us. Being the nice guy I am, I offered to change seats with them so they could sit next to each other. BIG MISTAKE!!!! These girls were now sitting behind us and kicking our chairs the entire movie. It took every ounce of patience I had to not say something. I always speak up when someone is being rude, but being they were going to be behind me for a duration, I reluctantly kept my mouth shut. On another note, when we came out after the movie, there was a guy with a black wind breaker, sitting right outside the theater, that had motion picture anti piracy stuff printed on it. I shot the shit with him while my GF went to the bathroom. He mentioned that they caught someone the night before but didn't catch anyone the night we went. He said it's amazing how many people think they're smarter than them. |

this is how you can tell if your addicted to SlickDeals
by afsammie I'm not exactly sure what I just ordered, but I think I'm pretty pleased about it if it's what it might be, but then again, I have no idea exactly what it is... but that's the nature of slickdeals. Thanks OP! I think. |

these types of threads always amaze me. the arguement is the same: "see, this movie made a profit! I told you its OK to steal!"
this is but one movie and does not represent the entire movie industry. using the big summer blockbuster movie as the "proof" that pirating movies does not effect revenue is a classic misleading vividness fallacy. classic. It is possible you are correct, but the arguement you make is totally ineffective. |
|
1 each download is watched by only one person. apparently people who pirate movies live in a cave by themselves and never watch movies with anyone else. 2 ignores the sale of popcorn and drinks 3 ignores sales of digital downloads (amazon, itunes, etc. etc.) and blu-ray dvd sales. 4. international revenue major assumptions making that 0.5% "arguement" stupid. |

This is like walking into a thread about hockey and talking about football. Youre on a completely different page than all of us, might help to brush up on the actual law As an artist who deals with copyright infringement, when my work is posted somewhere else i dont suddenly have that file deleted off my computer. get it? |
