This appears to be better on the systems that rarely go on sale.
Needless to say, this is military only. Go us!

$1,023.35 here, vs $1,499 for the same build on Dell.
***Just realized that you can remove the MS Office for -$199.
That makes this build $830
Looks like the deal for the M14X is over. The other systems still seem to be offering decent deals.
If you only ordered ONE you have a good chance of getting reinstated if you are firm and persistent. Get with it!
CONSUMERIST ORDER EXPLAINING ONE OF THE CANCELLATIONS NICELY IS UP:
Dell Offers 25% Off Deal To Troops, Then Cancels Orders
WHAT TO DO IF DELL CANCELS YOUR AAFES ORDER
It seems Dell is beginning to cancel more orders (most from the 9th have shipped, but the 10th seems headed toward mostly cancelled) from the hot AAFES Mother's Day Alienware deal they offered last week. Don't despair. Dell has cancelled hot AAFES deals before after the fact and ended up backing down and reinstating/shipping them after a storm of emails/negative attention. All they need is a little prompting to do the right thing, but you have to DO something to get them to change their mind - all AAFES members with an order do.
I'd recommend all military AAFES members who got order cancellations do the following:
- Write a letter to AAFES (email email@example.com or through the site https://shop.aafes.com/shop/info/...rvice.aspx) and call, too - 1-800-527-2345 to complain
- Send an email to Michael Dell, too (email is Michael@dell.com ). Can't hurt.
- Bob Sullivan at MSNBC covers corporate shenanigans like this pretty well. Wouldn't hurt to write him as well about your personal story and confusion about being cancelled. His email is Bob.Sullivan@msnbc.com
- Also, some public shaming at www.consumerist.com might help, too ( email is firstname.lastname@example.org ).
The more complaints from affected servicemen/women these places get, the more likely Dell will end up honoring the deal. The fact that they're screwing military makes it worse for Dell from a PR perspective.
Also, the $4 Ivy Bridge upgrade that was part of the laptop deal is really not that big of a blunder for Dell because they're automatically upgrading all current Alienware orders to Ivy Bridge for FREE anyway i5 Sandy Bridge -> i5 Ivy Bridge and i7 Sandy Bridge -> i7 Ivy Bridge. No cost to the general public, this is not a special AAFES deal or mistake, so there's no excuse for cancelling the upgrade option they did through AAFES for $4.
To track your shipment:
1) Go to FedEx's website and search by reference number. https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking?cntry_code=us
2) Enter your order number (from the confirmation email) as the reference number and complete the destination country and zip code. The account number can be left blank.
3) Click "track".
Notice of Intent to Resell
Exchange patrons are prohibited from the following: (1) Making (or purchasing for the purpose of making) a sale, exchange, transfer, or other disposition of exchange merchandise or services to unauthorized patrons (customary gifts of a personal nature are permissible). (2) Using exchange merchandise or services to produce income. (3) Making purchases for the purpose of resale by, or on behalf of, an installation private organization or other non-government entity. <----- Why is this in red? This is the bold print you get from ANY Dell purchase. Put on the foil hat! There isn't an profit in trying to sell one of these anyways.
Actually, this is AAFES specific, not Dell specific. Exchange = AAFES.
For whoever made multiple orders and sent to different addresses/names, think twice on if you need to cancel some of the orders for saving your career. You are challenging the government.
