Car Rental one way question- San Diego to Vegas
My wife and I are flying out of Nashville in September to visit my brother in San Diego. Then I'm planning to rent a car and drive to Vegas (about 4 hours I guess, seems like everyone should be able to say the took a roadtrip to Vegas). Then fly from Vegas to Nashville a few days later.
Already have the flights and hotels figured out. Just need some help with the car. I checked Hertz/Budget/Enterprise, and they all look like ~$150 is the normal rate for a one day, one way rental (midsize). Any chances of finding this at a lower price?
I'll be leaving San Diego on Sunday, September 23rd. Could pick it up any time that day, say around noon preferably. Would be in Vegas later that evening. Or, I guess a Saturday evening pick up with a Sunday evening drop off would work too if it was cheaper. I'm new to car rentals, so not sure what the normal pickup/dropoff times are.
Is dropping it off at the airport in Vegas the only option? I would then have to take a cab/shuttle to my hotel. Some of the rental sites had hotels listed as possible drop off points, but not many details were listed. Anyone with experience dropping it off at their hotel? Currently, I'm planning to stay at Bally's, but would drop it off at any hotel within walking distance.
Here's a one way rental, chevy malibu, pick up at san diego airport, drop off at Paris Hotel and Casino (right next to Ballys). Would it be an issue that I'm not a guest of this hotel?
