I think they only take amazon payments? Though its a good thing since Im not a fan of paypal anymore due to their policies. They do let you donate any amount on the lowest tier if you didnt want a copy of the game

It's a bit of a hard sell for me now. Everybody and their brother is riding the Kickstarter nostalgia remake wave thanks to the Double Fine guys who got 3 million +. Stainless has been making mediocre games for nearly a decade. Just because they made the original Carmageddon almost 20 years ago doesn't automatically guarantee much. I think people are apprehensive about Kickstarter campaigns because there's no product. There's no demo, no reviews, not even any prototype gameplay footage. If you want to gamble, be my guest. Hell, I'm even looking forward to the new Shadowrun game, but I'll wait and see what the final product looks like before I lay down the cash.

I think its a fair argument. What sold it for me though, is that theyre very passionate about the series and went as far as to buy back the rights to the franchise after fighting for it for years and having a lot of the original team get back to create the game. Its true about there being so many kickstarters and not being sure what the end product will be, but there really hasnt been any games that compare to the first two games in the series so Im all for showing my support and donating $15

Wasn't just Double Fine, there were two others out there that happened at the same time that also brought a bit of publicity. (Order Of The Stick and the ipod thingy if I remember right, both of those got enough coverage to justify the 1 million+ mark for donations and boost Kickstarters revenue.)

Of course you right about the demo, prototype etc. They have an idea, and sometimes even if it comes out bad, as a fan it's good to tip you hat to them, or maybe someone who pirated a copy just wants to give back to the company (They should!). Either way $15 for a hope and a dream seems like a steal to me!

Worse case scenario the game sucks, it still cheaper then the next POS Call of duty at $60 (or 49.99 a month later....).
