I was looking for a starter case for my new Kindle Fire I could not find anything posted on SD cheaper than $5 today....So I thought I would share. The case appears to be fine for a starter case. If anyone has advice on clear protector screen covers please share.

That sounds great.

Do you have any suggestions on screen protectors covers at a reasonable price?

Best buy wants $24.95 and I was shocked they had the nerve to charge $15 to put the screen cover on.

This one is cheap, free ship, US seller. I had good experience with cheapo protectors from meritline and ebay, so you can give them a chance, if not - get something more expensive. But you should be able to at least one of the 3 without bubbles.

Also watch for matte-vs-invisible or clear. I prefer clear/invisible protectors since they are "invisible", so you preserve original quality of the screen. Though they do have glare, but not much more than clear screen. Matte ones do not have such glare but they make colors bland and contrast muffled, harder to read for me, and it does not look nearly as good as without it. That's my opinion.

That's a good question. Based on my comparisons, the PLaybook is about 1/4" longer, and 1/2" taller. It most likely will NOT be compatible. Both units are just as thick, however.

The guy at Best buy was really pushing it. I think it was because the box was opened and he claimed they had to open the box to install the protector but they were not going to sell it at the open box price. I have an iPod touch and I have been through 3 cheap protectors in 18 months. I thought by getting a bigger tablet I would pay $2-$3 each. I just wish I could see this stuff in person. It is hard to buy stuff like this online. I will search ebay. I hope I can find the same product.

I bought my hubby a playbook for Christmas. I could not find any case deals and since it was new in the box and I did not know if he would like it I ended up settling for a case that cost $16.95.

This is correct. YooMee Kindle Fire 7 Inch Android Tablet Leather Case Cover Folio with Multi-Angle Stand and Hand Strap will not fit the playbook it is off by 1/4 of an inch.

The Kindle Fire fits perfectly. I love it!

I posted pictures of how the Blackberry playbook fits inside the sleeve case I listed above priced at $4.99.

IMO the sleeve is fine for the playbook. It does not stick out too much. The sleeve is ok for a starter case.I have not seen any good deals on a Blackberry playbook case. If you can't find anything theYooMee 100% Premium Black Leather Sleeve for Amazon Kindle 3, Kindle Touch, Kindle Touch 3G and Kindle Fire 7-Inch Tablet will work but keep in mind that it is only something to cover the device for extra protection. HTH
