Is there any plan that if let's say i pay upfront <$100 and then have the line available for next one year Max intended Voice usage - 100 mins for the entire year and the calls will be to/from a handful of numbers. Text - Not needed Data - Not needed I've an unopened T-mobile sim from one of the slickdeals and have an unlocked iphone 3g, again thanks to SD. ![]() Also have a dumb phone if need be. Please suggest the best plan for emergency only. |

Page Plus Cellular has the $80 for 2000 minutes for a year plan.
http://www.pagepluscellular.com/P...0Plan.aspx Pageplus runs on the Verizon network. OR... you could do this (I'm doing this for my aunt). For $30 a year you could purchase the $10 plan 3x a year. This would give you 100 minutes to use over 4 months. Apply another $10 before the end of the 4th months end to keep the same number. EDIT: I don't think this will work with your iPhone 3g if it uses a sim card (as Page Plus / Verizon is CDMA) , but they may have changed this recently. Take a look at this article [prepaidreviews.com] as it may help give you a few options to consider.

TMobile has a plan where you only pay on the day you use it. I use this for my alarm system backup.
It is a dollar per day on days it gets used plus 10c / minute. http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.co...hone-plans |

30 bucks for 6 months. value does not expire if you top off every 6 months.. so 60 dollars a year. You can buy a phone for 60 bucks that comes with a 50 dollar card so your good for almost a year off the bat. When you say emergency use do you mean just being able to dial 911? If so, a inactivated phone can do that for free

This is what I use for my 88 year old Mom.... 8.9 cents per minute pre-paid.
Comes also with dirt cheap international rates. I load $50 (can set up automatic re-bill) at a time lasts her a looooooong time. You figure $50 can last almost 550 days if she uses it sparingly. Thats almost a year and a half! http://www.stimobile.com/rates-services.aspx Just 9ยข per day + 8.9 cents per minute Minutes do not expire with active service (as long as you make or receive 1 call every 60 days) Buy airtime as you need it NOTE: International rates do not include airtime. Rates only apply to customers who activate on or after June 12, 2008. Last edited by boltman2007; 05-11-2012 at 09:29 AM.. |

This has been mentioned in the past, but with tmobile if you get $100 in airtime you get "gold rewards status" after which point future purchases of all tiers of airtime last 1yr. So $100 for the first year and 1000 minuets, and depending on how sparingly it's used as low as $10/yr to keep service active the next year (adding only 30 min).
