I'm not sure why everyone is getting so worried. this happen last year almost exactly aorund this same time. Lots of items went on sale for a penny shipped. While all orders were not fulfilled, they would send 1 item of every order to the people. I honestly think this is more for publicity to bring them new customers. This is because with every order they put out a coupon for their website instead of for amazon
I think its just a mistake, since you can control shipping prices and these seller usually sell things for .01 + 4.99 shipping. They just forgot to adjust the cost of the item, their dumb fault since they're trying to cut cost by saving $$$ on fee from the final cost.

could be either way, all i know if i learned not to play one order for lots of items, but lots of orders for 1 item. you get way more that way Smilie

That would be quite the retarded way to do it...since they are going to probably get many neg's from cancelled orders. (Which many are reporting they are getting cancel order emails already).

it depends, they dont have to pay the amazon tax if they can bring people stright to them and not through a middleman. again i'm not saying this is the real reason but it did seem strange to give a coupon like that

Dear Perspective Amazon customers,

We have just installed a few new internet routers at our brand new 3-block building locating in Seattle, WA. In order to test the maximum capacity of those routers, we've decided to use the program to see how much traffic our superb servers can handle the load.

Thank you for participating in our testing program and we look forward to serving you in the future.

PS> We won't fulfill any of your orders. But as a token of appreciation of your participation, please accept our sincere thanks. We just thought you might not able to sleep well tonight thinking about all the orders you placed so we send this update email as quickly as we can to update you the situation.

I placed three separate orders. My order with a bulk of my items in it together has been cancelled, however the other two orders with only one item in each have not been cancelled yet.

Interesting. Will keep this updated Smilie

Amazon processes payments, the seller dosen't even know your payment method, let alone your CC info.
