Mall of America

We are mostly going just because the wife has never been to the Mall and would like to see it and I just need to travel. What I would like is some suggestions that people have for the trip from their experiences. I haven't been to MOA in probably 15 years, back when it had the Camp Snoopy... So my questions are: 1. Where to stay? Or not stay? (I saw avoid the Ramada) 2. What to see/do with a 2.5 year old? 3. What other sites to see? 4. Anything going on that week in the area that would be interesting? Well, I was born and raised in Minnesota, so maybe I can be of some assistance. There is actually a hotel on living social in the Minneapolis region, not too far from the MOA that has a water park in it (http://www.livingsocial.com/escap...water-park). I think that would be the perfect place to tay because you can get to the MOA very easily from there and from the MOA you can just as easily get to Minneapolis via the Light Rail. Also, I think it's a fairly inexpensive hotel with this deal. As far as what there is to do with a 2.5 year old, if you go to the MOA, you must bring him to Lego land and probably underwater world (even though I don't really like underwater world and I find it a little overpriced). There are many interesting places to eat there also that will surely entertain him, like the Rainforest cafe. In minneapolis, I am not too sure of what you could do with a kid that age. But for you guys, depending on what you guys like to do, there are sporting events (Twins, even though I've heard they suck this year), Minneapolis is a very artistic city with museums and theaters (The Guthrie theater), the walker art museum... It's hard to give you ideas since I don't know much about your interests. I would suggest a quick google search
