The sensor is a bit better on the old one. Don't get me wrong the new one is good too but the older one's sensor is generally considered better. Considering they don't make the old one anymore and some people use over 1800dpi it's kind of a moot point.

In general what people should be looking at in any mouse is what sensor the mouse uses and if that sensor has issues like prediction, jitter, high z axis lift off, etc. After that the size of the mouse should be looked at with the way you use it (finger tip grip, claw grip, palm grip). You'd be surprised how many mice out there have crap sensors. Even so called gaming mice. Fortunately this mouse isn't one of them.

Yeah I got one of those too. Same thing. 1st gen Lachesis from Woot before I knew about it's issues. Needless to say it's junk and it's collecting dust somewhere. I tried firmware to try and fix it but no luck. The mouse would like to double tap the left click and it's Z axis lift off was terrible. Hell my Salmosa was 10 times better. Funny how their bottom of the barrel mouse worked way better then their damn top of the line Lachesis at the time. Part of the reason I went back to Logitech because their customer service fixed my G9 when the middle mouse button bricked. They told me to send back my G9 with shipping on them and since they didn't make the G9 anymore they just gave me a G9x.

If for some reason I ever need to buy another mouse again I'm buying strictly by who makes the best sensor. I've heard that nowadays the more recent Cooler master mice are good. I'd have to find the articles I've read to figure out which one it was though.

Just a forewarning, those side buttons are fragile. I love the mouse so much that I continue to buy it, but I've gone through 3 of these mice (the side buttons break or stop working) and my fiance's also broke the exact same way (so it's not just me).

Each one broke RIGHT after the warranty was up. That being said, I still have yet to find a more comfortable high performance mouse.

quick heads up to those thinking of buying this. Amazon page says it ships in 2 to 4 weeks so if you're wanting it soon you might want to pay the $5 extra for the black edition which says in stock.

I have owned this mouse for about 4 years and really enjoy it. Some people prefer the laser versions of the Razer mice (newer), but I can't imagine the necessity for it. This mouse has seen its fair share of abuse and seems just as quick and responsive as it did on day one.
