Droid Razr Maxx Price $199 @ Verizon Wireless

I have the razr maxx. At first I loved it. The battery life is awesome. But after a few months I am having problems with the wifi. My maxx constantly drops the wifi connection where my previous HTC phones never did. I complained and verizon sent me a replacement but it is even worse.

Other than that the phone is awesome.

This isn't really big news, however it does mean that wirefly and amazon wireless will likely be dropping their price soon too!

Guess I'll have to see if they will refund me the difference.

Of course they won't offer me the $199.99 price. That's "not an option". So I suggested returning the phone which they said incurs a $35 restocking fee so that pretty much is a wash.

If not you have 14 days to return a phone for a 30 buck restocking fee. So worst case take it back, and make them refund your all but 30 bucks.. Soon as they do that, tell them you want to purchase a new one, and make sure they get you a new one, not the one you just returned for them being unwilling to refund your money.

I did a chat session and was informed there was a $35 restocking fee. So is it worth my time and effort for the $15?

i would just to be a pain if they aren't willing to refund the difference.

i bought my maxx about a month ago for this same price, what has changed?

It wasn't $199 for a period between when you bought it a month ago and now?

$199 still seems high, this should be $50 more than the Droid Razr which was just $99.

I have a Droid Razr Maxx and love the thing, works pretty much flawlessly.

Well strictly from an opportunity cost perspective, probably not. The time involved is probably on the order of an hour and then if anything "goes wrong" you are looking at probably another hour on customer support sorting out the issue. So if you value your time at more than $7.5 to 15/hour, don't bother. However, if your original was somewhat "defective" it might be worth the time for that benefit. As to making the employees work, well my perspective is that the Verizon entity is this faceless corporate entity and the store employees are just mindless drones restating the corporate line. They could care less if you returned 5 phones and were issued new ones.

The site said $169, but I added the Wireless Protection Plan and the phone was only $69 in the cart...with a $30 upgrade fee that they enacted last month. I thought I clicked on the regular Razr, but confirmed it is the MAXX.

I'd return/rebuy just to show them they're stupidity of not price matching a day later. Any either way, you're still getting money back so its still worth it!

Did you use any coupon code or have any sort of special promotion on your account? I tried adding all different types of extra coverage, including the Wireless Protection Plan, and the phone always remained at $179.99 for me ($199-$50 upgrade discount+$30 upgrade fee).
