I haven't tried calling yet, because I don't know if it will be worth my time. But I purchased this for $249.99 (which included a NE2 credit) 18 days ago. So now that it's $199.99, it probably would have been $169.99 with my NE2 credit. Really sucks, but I wonder if anyone has been successful in getting a price match. Please report if you have.

Love it how my new every 2 discount is $30 and the upgrade fee is $30. Kind of stupid.

And it also says I have to call to get the phone since my plan needs to be upgraded as well. Seems like they will have another excuse to get more money out of me.

Great deal! Looking for this phone and my upgrade is due and couldn't get it to work out the same on the site as you did. Came to 229 for me. Even tried changing to the wireless assurance.
Boo on VZW for the $30.00 update fee. Haven't seen that before.

Good price but the screen ruins it for me. I have my eyes on the upcoming Fighter, GS3, and oddly enough the iphone 5. My Droid X is working good enough till then.

Is the screen really that bad? I used a friends briefly and didn't really notice it being much different than my HTC incredible.

When I got my maxx a couple weeks ago, they stated the following Monday they were going to start charging for updates. They told me they were doing it to help with the cost of expanding 4g and all the other companies already charge for it.
I have also heard the concerns about the screen, but I don't see a problem with it.

My problem with the fighter coming out is the battery. Supposedly it will have a larger screen, better resolution, faster processor....but same battery as the maxx. Currently my phones charge last about a day. With all these "improvements" and the same battery I would think it would die after about half a day, unless they figured out a way to make it more efficient.

coolguy982, no coupon code. I did ask them for one to drop the upgrade fee, which they promptly told me there was no way to get it dropped. I'm not sure if it was a glitch, but I'm not complaining. Sorry you couldn't replicate it.

I'm going to hold out for Amazon to price match. Having to pay tax at Verizon on a $600 phone adds $50 for me. Come on Amazon!

Oh sweet, I just checked a couple hours ago and it was only $199 for new accounts, $230 for existing accounts.

Now the question is, do we wait a little longer till it drops more??? When does the Fighter phone come out? Hmmm, decisions...

if only I could convince VZW to give me an early upgrade... but they aren't budging this time around.
