The IP address of the machine which this mail was sent from was 86.123.196.208
If those recipients email address were all from your contacts, you should change your aol email account password (change it anyway when something like this happens) Last edited by teetee1; 05-14-2012 at 05:37 AM.. |

not sure the ip traces to here
86.123.196.208 IP address location & more: IP address [?]: 86.123.196.208 [Whois] [Reverse IP] IP country code: RO IP address country: ip address flagRomania IP address state: Constanta IP address city: Constanta IP address latitude: 44.1833 IP address longitude: 28.6500 ISP of this IP [?]: Romania Data Systems Organization: RCS & RDS S.A. Residential Customers Host of this IP: [?]: 86-123-196-208.rdsnet.ro [Whois] [Trace] Local time in Romania: 2012-05-14 15:56 but it also says X-Mailer: AOL Webmail 36049-MOBILE so it could be a mobile version of aol? there has been a major attack of all the web based emails looking for weak passwords I know of two people that had accounts hacked one was AOL and she used 195907 for her password the other used denver. Make sure you pick a strong password by not using a word also length always helps |

Your email account was compromised. Your password may have been guessed by someone if it is very simple or else you may have some type of malware on your computer which intercepted your username and password and sent it on to the bad guys. It's pointless to try to find out who did it, just take steps to stop it and keep it from happening again.
You should read this help article from AOL: How do I know if my account has been compromised (hacked)? [aol.com] |
