Klipsch Gallery G-12 Speaker System + Klipsch SW-308 Subwoofer + Harman Kardon AVR-1650 Receiver $1000 & More + Free Shipping
Price Research: Our research has shown that the Klipsch Gallery G-16 5.1 Home Theater Bundle as a sum of parts is $1402 lower (52% savings) (3x Klipsch Gallery G-16 $900+, 2x Klipsch Gallery G-12 $400, 10" Subwoofer $1000+, Receiver $400+) than the next best available price from a reputable merchant including shipping, with prices ranging upwards from $2700 - daisybeetle |

IMO, the G-16 is the better deal, (both very strong, though) because the "throw-in" sub is very strong.
Cheapest I could find either set for online were these prices, and that's without the bundled stuff. That particular Harman AVR retails for like $400+ (and gets posted here at $300+); the 10" Klipsch sub sells for close to $1,000 (see ebay [ebay.com]), the 8" sub goes for $500+ [ebay.com]. I posts with my Gat out, bounce and leave a hundred, Make em feel slutted even if they don't want it.

Why aren't people freaking out about these prices. From what I can tell the 2nd package is an awesome deal. The 3 G-16 ($900), 2 G-12(400), SW-310(750) and the Harman Kardon AVR-1650 (380). All of these prices are the best I could find online from reputable sources and ebay. The total price comes up to $2430 and this deal has them at only $1298. Seems like a pretty awesome deal to me.

That doesn't look like a very good receiver.. Then again what do I know..
> Still is using his AVR 635 with 10 year old Bose 5.1 (not a fan of) < Edit - Like I said, what do I know. I looked at the top Harmon Kardon Models and I saw that the back of the receiver was more "clean" (Like 1/3 of the connections) than the one I have with my AVR 635. Hrm.. what to do what to do...
Current Setup: Polk Audio CS1 Series II Center Channel Speaker 2 x Polk Audio Monitor40 Series II Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeaker YAMAHA RX-V867 7.2-Channel Digital Network Home Theater Receiver ESW-C8 Subwoofer I paid $690 for everything last year in August. I'm debating to bite on the Klipsch Gallery G-16 5.1 Home Theater Bundle...I would be purchasing this for the speakers & sub, and then reselling all my current speakers and the receiver which comes in this package (unless someone can convince me the Harmon Kardon Receiver is an upgrade over my current Yamaha RX-V867). I'm completely fine with my current setup, however not only do these speakers perform better, they are also very compact and modern looking. And of course the sub I get by upgrading is on a completely different level. Now, anyone that is bored and/or that has expertise in audio equipment want to talk me into/out of this? Maybe i can take all my current equipment, including my receiver to a place that buys used audio equipment and try to get around $500-600? Then the upgrade would only cost $600-700... Or maybe my current set up is fine and I should just invest in adding 2 Energy CF-70's for $400 when they go on sale... Decisions decisions.. Last edited by pakman134; 05-14-2012 at 10:04 PM.. |

G-16 bundle looks like a great deal. H/K amplifiers are great, an excellent AVR if you like things flat and don't tend to mess with eq or tone controls much. The biggest problem with H/K is that ez set is SO very lame. It's disgustingly bad considering the top notch technology and resources under the Harman hat, does little more than plain old setup for distances and such, not much at all for room correction. I really wish they'd fix this because H/K's have a great dynamic amplifier section and they look so very nice.
The gallery speakers are nice for what they are but they are limited by the tiny enclosure volume. Having said that if you need wall hangers you could do a whole lot worse for the money. Sub looks to be very nice, and will cleverly give quite a wow factor for most folks. All in all this looks to be an excellent deal if everything in the kit suits you. I have no direct experience with the vendor but for what it's worth they are listed as an authorized Klipsch vendor on the Klipsch site. So at least not a scam site. Is www.sounddistributors.com reputable? Never heard of them before. Anyone has any recent buying experience with them?

Damn great price.
There's being frugal, and there's being obnoxiously cheap, please learn the difference. Also if you find yourself getting into heated arguments online about things like lossless audio, re-assess your life.
