Thread Details

I was near a KFC today and decided to pull in. It sits next to another restaurant that I frequent but I have seen the sign for the Tuesday special for months for a country fried steak, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, and a biscuit for $1.99.
I gotta say, I only got it to be cheap, but that was great. I tried not to like it, but it was not only $1.99 good, I would gladly pay $5 for it. Regular sized sides (which is all I wanted anyway but would have cost over $2), but also a nice steak that was certainly bigger than I thought it would be. It tasted like their chicken did 15 years ago when it wasn't all grease laden.
It will be my Tuesday place until they figure out how much money they are losing. What's amazing to me is that he KFC near me isn't even a good one, I eat there once or twice a year and then wonder what I was thinking.

Don't hate me, I was a doubter too, but what a pleasant surprise - the Colonel should be proud. worship

My KFC has been doing this for a loooooong time. I think most do, YMMV is right though! I do second the OP - HUGE amount of food for just two bucks!

I get this at least a couple times a month. Very good food for the price.

Another good place to eat that many may overlook is the Kmart eatery. Might be YMMV on price/quality but in my town, a kids meal with Drink/Fries/Burger(about as big as a whopper but much better) is only $2.49 plus tax. Adult size is $2.99 and is the same as the kids meal but larger drink.

YMMV on the day as well. Where I went to school it was on Wednesday's now in my city it's on Monday's. But it's definitely good for the price.

It's a good deal and the steak is not bad at all. Around my area it is on Tuesday's. Here you only get one side and a biscuit.
