That phone does NOT qualify for the grandfathered price. Any phone released after May 1st will be subjected to the new plan pricing. Only reason I didn't go for the Elite, she's a beautiful looking phone.

So who is correct- the elite phone is go for the gf plan if you upgrade or not due to the may 27 date

The way i read the FAQ previously provided, it seems that :

Even if you upgrade your phone before May 27th (to a phone released after May 1st) you will expect to be forced into the new plan rate starting May 27th AND lose whatever balance you had on the previous plan.

I would hope they roll your money into the new phone instead of "stealing" any balance you had on the previous phone.

It is confirmed by VM rep on Facebook that as long as you activate by May 27th, you will keep $25 grandfathered plan.

I have my doubts about the fb posts, only because they can dispute it saying it's not in their FAQs and their FAQ did say new phones are not going to get the $25 pricing.. I'm half tempted to get the elite, but I'm going to play it safe. Also, have you ever tried talking to their CS over the phone, some of them are... I mean, they still couldn't understand what I meant by, I was double billed and double charged, took me over a week to get one of the charges taken off. I had to talk to one of their higher supervisors.
