guys this laptop is a powerhouse... At this price this configuration is unbeatable.
If you want to get a MAC with a similar kind of conf you would spend around 2k easily.
Easily more than 2K with that GPU and i7. I might actually sell my Macbook Pro later 2010 model for 1000 and then buy this. Would be trading for a computer with 2x-3x the power easily for like an extra 100 dollars... Tempting.
SHUT UP AND SQUAT!
6x TouchPad 32gb for $970 (sold for 1600)
1x iPad 2 32gb for a TouchPad
So this laptop intakes air from the bottom and shoots it out the left rear? I'm looking for a laptop like this that intakes air from anywhere but the bottom and shoots it anywhere from the bottom.
As a note, if you try to use a laptop like you state you're looking for on your bed you'll still end up cooking it. Even with a side intake, if it's trying to exhaust from the bottom, but that's covered up, you'll still end up with no airflow. Both intakes and exhaust must be clear to move air. You'd need to find something that both intakes and exhausts from the sides to meet your requirement.
Just wanted everyone to know. Ordered at 11:53p on 5/15/2012.
Got the 9 Cell extended battery. Came to $1,459.99, saved $481.80 using: NBP8784. With a FL Tax of: $58.70, the Grand Total came out to: $1,036.89.
NOTE: I have an Academy account and for whatever reason the account did not let any coupon codes take effect. I talked to chat support and they couldn't access my account to verify anything. She said that it was because of their new Website Upgrade. I was fine with that and decided to create a second account. It worked beautifully.
I've been looking for a good deal for some time now. I would agree with fellow SDers, DWad and hpdsf (post: #14,15 respectively) that this is one extremely good deal and a perfect system for size/weight/power.
Super happy/excited for my new lappy to come in =D
Living in California really kills the deal. The price spiked by ~$100 from tax and recycling fees... Much less attractive, but booked one nonetheless.
How durable are these HP laptops? How's the build quality? I'm hoping by dishing out $1000 on a laptop I wouldn't have to worry about repurchasing one for the next ... at least 3 years? Any feedback is appreciated.
