My two cents. Proceed with caution. My son got the Imaginext Batcave for Christmas. It broke the first day of use (front doors wouldn't stay closed). Got a replacement, and out of the box, it was as bad, if not worse. I was stunned by how cheaply it was made. Elevators were a twisted mess of string...out of the box! Pieces were just begging to break off. Astoundingly, other than a few pieces not fitting that well together, and the tangled mess of cord that was the elevator, nothing broke. Not because of craftsmanship, but because my son was so frustrated with the piece of crap, that he just stopped playing with it. It was a bad enough experience that I vow to never purchase another Imaginext item again, and actively encourage others to think twice about it too.

Plastic heaps of trash, poorly designed, low quality materials.

I used to love Fischer Price as a kid.

I have to disagree we also got the batcave for Christmas and I feel it is very well made. It has been thrown around and dropped many times and still looks new.

I also already have this set and it is a great set and made of great quality. Bought extras now for others for gifts.

looking at review on toysrus its not very good and for the price, you can't go wrong

How's the elevator work for you? Are the strings twisted up and incapable of raising it? Do the front purple doors shut and stay shut, or do they wobble around? It's possible that my region just got a shipment of dud Batcaves, but to have two be piles of crap within minutes of play, has kept me from ever touching another set. If my son hadn't wanted it so bad, I would have returned the second one for a refund and never looked back.

I was stunned at how poorly engineered and designed it was. There are a lot of 3 and under * reviews on Amazon, but many of the higher * reviews also talk about the poor quality, but they don't ding them for it when it comes to rating. I was incredibly disappointed with the toy.

My son has the Batcave (old style, not the new one that came out this xmas) and it has taken a beating and still looks fresh out of the box. Several of their friends have the old style as well and don't have any issues, maybe it's the newer cave with the issues.

About the only thing we have an issue with of the imaginext stuff is the Space Shuttle. They keep pulling the cockpit hatch too far open and it pops off. It just snaps right back in, but has a habit of disappearing under a dresser or bed.

I got the BatCave last year and have had no issues with it. I have twins who are pretty rough with it too. Plus, I have several other imaginext products, again with no issues. Picked this up too - thanks op.

It's a long way from xmas, but I've got 3 nephews who will be 3, 5, and 6, and this looks like a good communal gift to go along with some clothes (their parents ask for clothes, but I gotta get them something fun, or they'll realize I'm a miser long before they should know this).

$8.61 out of pocket cost for me after using $15 groupon that cost me $7 last year, and saving another $5 through the "bill me later" program.
