What do you guys think of the Sony NEX-5? Is it any good?

I wish I had $4620 so I could get the camera and order a big pizza as a extra gift for my stomach

As an advanced amateur, I'd have to say the 600 is much better than my 580 ex ii ever was. Granted, I only used my 580 on ettl mode and a few days with a 20 dollar radio trigger set, but what I can say is the radio tech is really easy to use (I bought 2 600's) and the colors I'm getting with direct flash and FEC -3 is really outstanding. Like I said though, I generally only used the 580 in bounce mode with FEC 0, so I can't totally compare, but I would imagine you won't be disappointed with the new flash over your 430, especially if you get a 2nd.

It's a good deal for the lens standalone, considering the double rebate thing going on I think if you want to buy a body elsewhere you can get that lens with it for cheaper, but haven't looked into it.

I used the sony NX5 when it first came out for 3 years during my stay in college and it was hands down one of the best cameras ive used in my lifetime. Ive used various cameras such as the 5d, 7d, xl2, etc. and by far the NX5 exceeded all my expectations.

It's shocks me that they would bundle this deal with such cheap "thick" filters. They should remove them and knock $10 off the deal. Zeikos filters are fine for some cameras, but not when you are spending this kind of money and you're more serious about your photography - bad bundling move.

I do have a 430ex but dont' expect to be using it in the delivery room. Besides, if you are in a hospital, you can just have them crank the lights.

It's not BAD if you actually wanted all of those items--but once you start parting it out (say you sell off the 24-105L + 600ex), it's no longer a good deal. You'd nearly lose money if you sold off just the 5d3 on ebay.
