No More Free Drive
No-go on the 32 GB drive. Just asked via chat where was it and they said their allocated "free" bin is empty.

TU! I am liking these SSD price-war deals. I have no regrets buying a 120GB SSD a few months ago for $120
And dont write off 30GB SSDs, especially at this price. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate and a plethora of software (including Photoshop CS3) on my 120GB SDD and I still have 70+ GB free space left! All my media/data is on a 2TB NAS and I also have a spare 1TB HDD on the PC (disconnected, but available if required) if I need to store data locally. After you install Windows on SSD, there are tips on how to cleanup useless stuff so that you can save more space (if you have lots of RAM, disable paging; disable Hibernate; delete old/obsolete restore points; disable indexing and cleanup index files, etc). 30GB can go a long way! |

Code is dead. Here's the response:
The promo code HARDOCPX516A has been closed and is no longer active. That sucks, I was going for the 256GB drive...they have dropped the price to $209 as well, I'm assuming trying to make up for the missing 15% off, but of course it doesn't...$189 after rebate now.... -DB |

Damn, I just received my package and it didn't come with the 32gb drive as well. I emailed them and they said I didn't qualify for it since it expired on the 17th and I placed my order on the 18th (around 7:50am). BS! Page 8 on this thread shows that others have placed their order as well as I have when the free 32gb was still displayed on their website on the 18th. I shot an email back stating that the free 32gb ssd was on the product page, otherwise I would've never ordered it.
It's also real convenient of them to have sold this drive with a limited return policy making now even harder to return the drive. Without the 32gb, it's no longer a deal. Either way, If I don't get an acceptable response, I'm gonna have to call them in the morning and jump through more hoops. What's worse? I had to pay tax ![]() Anyone else having issues? Just got my 60GB drive last night. I put it in my system as the primary drive, installed Windows 7 64-bit, and all was going well, until it wasn't. After only about 3 hours, the system froze (except for the mouse). Upon restarting, it is no longer shown in BIOS, even after trying different cables and rebooting many times.
I didn't realize the Newegg return policy on this item excludes returns for a refund. Since the rebate expires in a week, and Newegg requires all original packaging, I'm going through OCZ directly for an RMA. I was hoping I'd luck out and get one of the reliable builds of this drive, but it looks like I got one of the crappy ones. Hopefully OCZ fixes this. |
