this makes sense as the GF4 just came out. IMO this is a meh camera, I would invest in something else.

It's a nice "compact" camera as long as you stay with the 14mm lens, but a decent range lens on it and it is NOT compact anymore.

Not true, there is no GF4. The just announced GF5 is a very minor upgrade [dpreview.com] that will cost about $300 more.

The GF2s and 3s got a bad rap because they were cheaper and less flexible than the GF1. They are great cameras and have amazing image quality compared to any compact small sensor camera.

I am an ex GF-1 and GF-2 owner (both sold for a profit) and am in on this partially because I already have a G-1 and two lenses they can share.

Olympus has better colors rendition and in body image stabilization

Almost a $300 difference just based on color between this and the white one ? Rich people must really have a thing with matching their outfits with their favorite camera color or something.

This is a great price for this body and lens combo. If you are thinking of moving up from a compact camera to an interchangeable lens camera, this is a good option. Understand that you can spend A LOT of money on lenses. The 14mm is a pretty fast lens and very small. On the GF3 it makes the combo pocketable (not in tight jeans).

I'm sure some expert will point out the GF3 has no hot shoe or flash compensation. This likely isn't an issue for it's target market - compact move-ups.

I use the GF3 with both a 14mm, the 14-42PZ lens (also very tiny), and the 45-200mm telephoto. I'm very happy with its performance. The Olypmus EPM-1 is its competitor, also a very nice camera, but it's not $314 with the 14mm.

In for 1! I have the olympus EP-1 and really just wanted the pancake lens. Now I will have my complete lens set. The 14mm and the 45-200mm telephoto from panasonic, and the olympus 14-42 mm lens.
