Repeat of poster already reported this on Best Buy. I told him the OP to update his to include Staples in that thread. I didn't want to take away his post by doing the price comparison thing.

I know I posted the Staples price there but he hasn't updated it yet and I didn't want anyone to miss out on it.

I bought it at Staples but they would only pricematch 1 stick so I canceled the order. They told me this was shipped from the vendor and I might receive the item anyways and to refuse delivery if it arrived. So clearly they do pricematch for items sold by vendors. Unless it was a recent policy change.

Implication is that you didn't check the deal before you posted it. Try calling them and asking them to price match. Then you can ask them about discrepancies.

PMs are always YMMV. They price match some items and not others. All stores do it as a come on and many simply lie to get you to to to their store or site to look.

True I didn't check the deal. I tried but their chat was offline. I figured it was like any other Staples PM and AC deal. And like you said it's always YMMV. Just trying to help my fellow SDers.

Ok I just called Staples (1-800-378-2753) and the lady said she would PM against Best Buy. She said someone had already PM the same deal earlier. She asked if I wanted to proceed with my order and I declined because I wanted to apply the $25 off $75 coupon on the site first. I wasn't sure if I could use the coupon and the PM together at the same time. So it does work you just have to find the right agent as usual.

BS. Got price match via phone this morning no problem. Awesome card for $75. Awesome. EDIT: Yes I bought using coupon first, then called back for credit no problem. Am tempted to go buy one more. Nothing comes close for $75. Should be re-posted.

Another B.S. on this statement . Just called staples and not only did they pricematch, but he also applied my $25 off $75 coupon over the phone...

Nope, not BS at all. Staples did not honor the deal.

Note that I posted this first on the BB thread and asked that it be posted by that OP because I did not want to steal his thunder. I consider that etiquette.

As far as the deal goes, I called again and was sternly told that they would not honor the deal because it was a vendor item.

I went to the page with the price matching rules and told them that the vendor statement was NOT in the price matching rules and got connected to a supervisor who DID match the price.

So YMMV, but you may get the deal if you fight for it or get a friendly associate.

As far as the BS clowns go, get a life. It was my experience they said no to the deal. Twice!! I had to fight for it, but I did get it eventually.

How long they will allow it is anyone's guess so strike while the iron is hot.
