I'd prefer the 5.56 to the 9mm, but if you want cheaper ammo and to be able to shoot it in indoor ranges, 9mm may be the way to go for some people.

No no.... I was commenting on the person who was saying why a 9mm v a 22. I love the 9mm idea and gave this a thumbs us. this is a nice weapon at an excellent price. fun and functional. You comment about the ammo is "dead" on and will get a +1 from me.

I'm know that I'm gonna be flamed for this, but I have a 9mm Hi-Point & love it. It ended up being only $229+tax at my local Cabelas on sale last year. That's 1/4 the price of this Colt. And before you say anything, I've shot tons of cheap crap ammo out of it without a glitch. It also does some impressive groups (using a $50 red-dot sight, though I've heard many say they do well with the iron sights as well).

NEVER... NEVER... NEVER... Call to confirm a deal. Especially if it's really good! You may be telling them that there's something wrong & that they should fix it. You will also incur the wrath of everyone on this forum.

Make the first shot count, then empty the clip (depends on state laws, I guess). Not really my bedside weapon, though (and I'm a girl).

In fact, this would be a last-resort weapon in my house after I ran the gamut of irons, drivers, and putters. I hate incidental manslaughter charges almost as much as I hate repairing sheetrock, siding, and the neighbors siding, sheetrock, andhousehold contents.

TLDR, use the right tool for the right job.

I don't really get this either. If you want to shoot an AR indoors, why not get this http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pi...ERSION-KIT on top of a 5.56? .22 is FAR cheaper than 9mm, and you end up having a 'real' AR and the ballistic characteristics of a proper rifle round when you yank out the conversion kit, rather than the limitations of 9mm. Seems like the best of both worlds to me. Shooting 22 out of an AR is so quiet and comfortable, it feels sort of like a pellet gun. Then when you want the experience of an AR, you get the genuine article.

Also, imho, an AR is probably not a good choice for home defense in any case.
