losing weight is a function of caloric intake. high protein helps people with lowering caloric intake because it has high satiety. taking your protein as a shake makes this benefit pretty much a wash. Not a bad deal. I have this protein and I also have a few tubs of Muscle Gauge Nutrition - American Iso Whey and I must say this Dymatize is a bit chalky in comparison. I don't know what MGN uses for flavoring but Cake Batter and Chocolate Cookie Crunch taste way better then Elite Gourmet Chocolate. The Chocolate Cookie Crunch mixes better and tastes better then this. I don't know if it's because it's whey isolate vs whey/casein blend. Also I got my 3 5lb tubs for $101 from Muscle & Strength last month. Seems OOS now. Not surprised with how good it tastes. Just letting people know that they don't need to be limited to just ON or Dymatize for good cheap protein.

Anyhow I find that this Elite Gourmet tastes way better when mixed with milk instead of water (if you don't mind the carbs in milk). Also the sample packet of this in peanut butter was very good and in fact I thought it was better than the chocolate. My 2cents.

You could wait if you're looking for just a whey isolate. Problem is that protein prices keep going up. I paid $55 for this same twinpack of protein like a year and a half ago from FitRX.

I used to buy Gaspari Myofusion peanut butter and choc, and now I'm testing Dymatize Elite Cappuchino.

Myofusion was one of my favorites. With milk Dymatize tastes almost as good if not the same as Myofusion. You'll like it.

Blame the big boys for getting in on the act. When Gatorade made it's protein drink they were buying up an assload of whey. Also now the milk industry is selling to an expanding Chinese middle class. Add into the rising inflation and higher gas prices and you get the price you have now.

true, but chinese domestic production is expected to ramp up significantly to meet that demand. I expect prices to drop as that happens.

I sincerely hope you're right on that one. Could be just what's needed to drop protein whey protein prices in the US a bit. Would be welcome since they've just been going up like $7 a year or so it seems.

I'll just add that whey protein on a deal like this is MUCH, MUCH cheaper than quality food protein.

Sure, if you're eating Wal-Mart ground beef and the cheapest bulk white eggs with weird colored yolks you might match it, but by my grocery bill whey protein is 4-6 times cheaper than real food protein per gram...and much quicker to prep.

And you don't have to have just a whey/water drink, you can have broccoli on the side (or raw spinach), maybe an organic apple with natural peanut/almond butter, a banana, etc. Or make a meal replacement type shake with ice, oats, a nut butter, etc.

Good to know. I use milk with my mixes so it should be good then! I went ahead and bought 10lb. Got the swiss chocolate and Cappuchino rush.

Good to know lol. It wasn't milkshake quality like some ppl call it, but pretty enjoyable to drink.
