Just ordered the G400 to try out. Also probably going to order the Zowie AM. Good thing about Amazon is the fantastic returns process. I'll put up reviews of each mouse here once I get them. Still thinking the Deathadder is a no-go. Just a bit too big for me and the fingertip grip I use feels kind of uncomfortable on it.

All of you 670 guys - how are your cards holding up? I've seen a lot of negative reviews about drivers, artifacts, V-sync issues, etc. Not sure if this is simply due to driver issues with the new Kepler release or something more serious.
I got the 570 but am seriously considering grabbing a 670 or 670 FTW with the EVGA step-up. What do you guys think about the factory-overclocked version? I don't really care about the overclocking as much, but it comes with the stock 680 cooler. I think it's worth the $20 for the bigger, quieter and cooler 680 PCB alone. But I'm still a bit worried about driver issues / artifacting / etc. Any thoughts from owners? |

Reading the EVGA stock 670 reviews on Newegg, I can't help but be a bit nervous about the card. My 570 has been rock-solid and great performance. I would like to step up to the 670 but can't help but be nervous about 1) crappy stock cooler; 2) artifacting issues; 3) fan whine. It seems as if EVGA is (perhaps?) having some issues with their quality-control process for the 670. I very much hope I'm wrong as, unfortunately, Newegg has a replacement-only return policy on the card I bought. I guess in future I'll only be purchasing from Amazon with their excellent no-questions-asked return policy.
So still no problems for anyone out there with an EVGA ref 670? |
you have a 3 year warranty if anything goes wrong, if you want more security buy the 29.99 cross-ship option. Or just stick with the GTX570 no reason to go 670 especially at 1680 X 1050 resolution my bro's still using a GTX 260 Core 216 and plays all his games fine at that resolution |

My GTX 670 is almost (not quite) overkill for my 1920x1200 monitor. |

Quick G400 mouse review, for posterity - it's a fantastic piece of hardware. I couldn't stand the contoured mouse buttons on the Razer Deathadder Black. There was a depression in the middle of each button, presumably for your fingers to rest in. However I found this incredibly uncomfortable. I mainly fingertip-grip my mouse, sometimes switching to a light palm grip or soft claw. The depressions made anything bit a firm palm grip untenable. The G400, meanwhile, is a solidly-built and remarkably comfortable mouse. Every button (yes, including the scroll wheel) has a nice click to it and the lightly-rubberized surface has a premium feel to it. The thumb-groove is not particularly comfortable but it's not especially uncomfortable either. Responsiveness is snappy with no angle-snapping or prediction. To anyone looking for a well-built, comfortable and responsive mouse, I'd highly recommend the Logitech G400.
Now as to the 670 issue - I'm thinking I'll go ahead and step-up with EVGA. If the fan noise is really unbearable I can always watercool it or go with some aftermarket solution. But I find that these things tend to be exaggerated on forums. Should I have some problem I'm relatively confident that EVGA will take care of me - and if not, well, surely the plethora of noise issues being reported will generate a number of aftermarket air and water solutions. |
