This is tempting. Any reason why I should get this and ditch my Android running/GPS apps?
It all depends on what you do and what you need. For example, for triathlon training a phone is not a viable option.
The watch by itself does not give you much more. However, a phone does not pick up heart rate monitor, bike cadence sensor or foot pod should you need them. At least, mine doesn't. Of course, you'd have to buy those accessories if you don't have them already. That's quite a lot of extra $$$. It's usually cheaper to buy them as a combo. And a watch is much easier to carry, and less likely to get dropped, especially off a bike. Let's not mention swimming with a phone...
Edit: I should add that there are BT heart monitors for phones, but they are pricey. I have not heard of BT cadence monitors.
Thanks OP, repped. I have been looking for a deal on a 110 or a 210 so I don't have to share with my wife!
"I sense great vulnerability. A man-child crying out for love. An innocent orphan in the post-modern world."
"I see a parasite. A sexually depraved miscreant who is seeking only to gratify his basest and most immediate urges."
"His struggle is man's struggle. He lifts my spirit."
"He is a loathesome, offensive brute. Yet I can't look away."
"He transcends time and space."
"He sickens me."
"I love it."
Thank OP... i like the appearance and the design of the watch. simple fashion is really my taste.
the price, favorable or not?
the price is definitely right becasue the next best price i can find anywhere on this forerunner is $150 and up. This training watch is also well reviewed everywhere online. you should ask yourself whether you really need it or not. I actually believe this type watch is a must have to take athletic training to the next level however it will only help if you actually use the data it collects for you
Got mine at Christmas for about $130. I switched from the 305. I really like this watch and the size. Not a ton of bells and whistles but it does what I want. The instantaneous pace is not evident, but that is often a very inaccurate feature. If I'm concerned about pace, I set the auto lap to 1/4 mile and get some detailed feedback. It seems to pick up satellites better than the 305. I still had my heart rate belt from the 305, so I was able to just buy the watch.
