A few questions for the Christians, Jews and Muslims. Basically this: How do you justify your god? IMO a mentally deficient midget that is both deaf and blind could do a better job of being god than what is found in holy scriptures. Let's just say for a moment that your god exists. But.....if he does then by existing your god not only breaks his own commandments but is even worse than the worst person I've ever known and probably even worse than the worst person that has ever lived. Unlike having to rely on religious faith or belief I will back up my claims I made. How can I say that and back it up? Let's start at the top: 1- Your god is a murderer. I've read the bible, cover to cover, the Book of Mormon (I'm the inactive returned Mormon missionary that doesn't believe in god anymore....remember? ) and part of the Koran. Your god has commanded wars to take place in his name because he got offended and sh!t....then there was that whole flood thing with Noah and the ark. Holy scripture proves this so read your scriptures and you will plainly see I'm right.2- Your god is an adulterer/fornicator. The 'Virgin birth' and Mary ring a bell? She was married to Joseph. Joseph could have had her killed, by stoning probably but didn't. Again read your scriptures and you'll see I am right. 3- Your god is a petty, vengeful, jealous god that promotes hate and is just plain mean.....often for no reason at all other than feeling a childish urge to remind you that he's god and you're just something no better than what you'd scrape off the bottom of your shoe. A PMSing teenaged girl bowing to peer pressure too often has better self-control than your god. I consider murdering someone to be an act of hate....even when it's a crime of passion.....and with your god commanding so many murders in scripture then it's easy to see how hateful your god really is. There's more: your god seems to really get off on promoting every form and type of human suffering imaginable but can't be trusted to help you out even after living your life the best you can do and your god has a right to expect. He is an absentee landlord.....commanding under penalty of eternal damnation that you take all his sh!t, remain devoted to him and love him more than you could ever love your own spouse or children. If you don't.....he'll kill them just to teach you a lesson. Before killing them though he will likely submit them to untold suffering....while you watch, pray and promise your undying love, devotion and a good share of your wealth. 4- Your god takes or assumes absolutely ZERO responsibility for his own actions and inactions but still demands everything of you, breaks his 'promises' to you for all your devotion and if that isn't enough he can and will make it worse. How can this ever be seen or mistaken for loving behavior? You couldn't sell that crap to anyone without a gun to their head....but your god gets your complete love, admiration, credit for everything 'good' (dumb luck), gets you to take the blame for everything 'bad' (bad luck, wrong place/time, etc.) because you're a sinner....or he 'wills' it so....and if you still don't hit your knees faster than Jenna Jameson at her first audition to whore yourself out to him in prayers of thanks and promises of further devotion....then your god will smite you. There is much, much more and I could go on for quite some time.....but unlike your god I'm not that petty of a pr!ck. I think I have made my point and given more than enough backup to prove my claims. So without asking any of you to justify the existence of your god, your faith or why you believe....can you justify what a sociopath your god is? |

First of all as a Jew I would never try to convert anyone to a religion...Jews don't proslitize.
But to answer your question how do I justify my G-d? ...what difference would it make? Reading your crazy rant it is clear you are not interested. So I will just say...I don't have to justify him to you... How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin. Ronald Reagan Mr. Obama if you want to Restore America I will stand with you till my dying breath… however if you want to Fundamentally Transform America I will fight you till my dying breath |

Couple points to begin with:
Most of your points strictly refer to post modern Christian definitions. Christians never had to define when life began until recently. Beyond that, your points also refer to anthropomorphic aspects of God. This, again, only exists in Christianity as part of the creed. In Judaism, the only part this applies to is Jacob and he potentially wrestles with God, or an angel, etc.. If you remove the anthropomorphic stuff, 1-4 go away. It's that simple. Post modern Christianity has created its own Pandora box it can not escape. You live in the USA, and most Religious expressions are very Christian. |

In fact how does it matter if god is anthropomorphic.....meaning human in appearance is what you're meaning right?....because the bible says we are made in his image....or to be more specific in Genesis 1:26 'And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...' would indicate there is more than one god and they had a board meeting to decide how mankind would appear...anthropomorphic as 'they' looked. Now....can we leave the theological discussion and making up claims that are irrelevant and get back to my question in the OP: How do you justify the many failures, lies, sins and wickedness of Allah? I really am asking a sincere question here and not trying to provoke anyone that believes any of the Big Three. So can you answer my question? |

Seriously? You don't like my tone so you dismiss my argument? Get real and justify your god...or don't...but get real and don't try to overcome logic and calling out your god as a farce because you don't like my tone.Whether you think my argument to be well thought out, or not or anything else is again irrelevant to the discussion. But my argument is logical....and factual. The same scriptures believers use to 'prove' their belief I can use to disprove them logically and factually. This is something I know more than a little about and I have had time and the training to make elegant arguments and counter arguments.....ironically more from the POV of a believer....a true believer in god and his plan....in his holy scripture....than of my POV now that it's all a lie. (to over-simplify) That life is in a logical and factual sense....I have found that life to be a lie. A charade. A bad joke that is responsible for the untold deaths of billions and billions of people....and that number keeps climbing. Your god demands much but delivers nothing in return. Why do you continue to have faith in and support such an arrangement? |

Aaaaaand you still focused on Christianity. The created in God's image has many, many many meanings. Taking one meaning alone and running with it isn't excatly valid. It means something different in Christianity (more in line with Christ) than Judaism (humans having a spirit form and a material form). Saying "God must have written" assumes hands, pens, etc. That sets limits. The idea of God is a limitless being is instantly called into question. If you want to discuss a topic like this, there needs to be defined premises. Otherwise the conversation will just go in circles. I don't know if I can answer your question. Wrath, vengeance, etc are all aspects of Religious doctrine (God punished people who refused to accept Prophecy when it was clearly presented for them). You're taking a single polar view and only accepting it in the most negative way. Assume you only knew of human history and knew of these stories (Noah, Lot, Ghamora, Moses wandering the desert for 40 years, etc.). Would you still assume there were some higher entity punishing people or would you assume it's fate/luck/nature/etc? Some people then question "oh it's so convenient God stopped sending messengers after 600 AD?" Yes, that is convenient. It is also convenient none of us were in Japan for the quake, or in Russia during the Stalin years, or in most of the developed world during the Mongol conquest as the Mongols took no prisoners. You're still focused on post modern Christian aspects of the faith and how people reconcile those things. These generally are not a problem for Muslims as the things you list are not part of the creed. |
