Yes this is a lot of money. That said, this is a phenomenal deal. Probably the deal of the year in riflescopes. Regular price on this set is $2300.

http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-HD-1-6x24...56681.aspx

Add the above to your cart. Then enter coupon code 10000 for the discount of ~$700

Shipping for me was $13

This is a part of SWFA's Facebook "like" promotion. No one really expected the site to hit 10,000, but here we are! See this thread for discussion of the deal:
http://www.snipershide.com/forum/...387&page=1

Both scopes are MIL/MIL and have first focal plane reticles. The 1-6 is illuminated as well. Both come with a lifetime warranty.

The 1-6 does not ship until an undetermined date this summer. However SWFA has indicated they will ship the 5-20 now at no additional charge if you contact them and request it.

A lot of people have not heard of the "super sniper" scopes. They are truly one of the best value per dollar scopes you can buy today, and that is at regular price. Don't let the mall ninja ish name fool you. This is serious hardware from a company that has a few military contracts for their scopes.

Don't just listen to me gush. Go read reviews on the 5-20x50:

http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-5-20x50-T...51653.aspx 5-20x50 product page with buyer reviews.

If you are not sold yet go read around at sniper's hide and optics talk. Or don't if the s/o will will try to use these on you after you order the combo Smilie With these scopes you are covered for plinking, hunting, target, and long range needs. At least that is my excuse for the wife.

Excellent glass for the money. The 5x20 alone is probably worth it at this price. Not cheap, but worth it if you are running a precision rifle and are doing it the right way.

That is a LOT of money. Would someone mind listing the advantages of these expensive scopes over something less expensive? Because you can get some very nice scopes for a small fraction of this money.

The advantages come across the board. Durability, quality of the glass (which allows for better image clarity and contrast), better light transmission for low light shooting, MIL/MIL turrets and reticle to allow you to use the scope to calculate range and holdover. That is on top of out of the box advantages like first focal plane and the big magnification range for the size on the 1-6 and the big magnification range generally on the 5-20. I suggest you read through the reviews above to get an idea of the features. The problem you will run into is that people reviewing these scopes would never allow a "cheap" scope to touch their rifle, so I doubt you will see any head to head SWFA vs. Barska shootouts. Try to find a professional review of the lower end scopes you are considering and compare the two. With that said, no "cheap" comes within 100 miles of touching these scopes and the value they present if you are into precision shooting.

When the hell did Super Sniper go into the thousands?

Mine was only $250 a few years back.

EDIT: looks like its a new, nicer lineup of scopes. I am very happy with my $250 scope, so I wont be needing to shell out thousands for a nicer one.

EDIT2: They must have a VERY NICE margin on those scopes if they're able to knock off $700 from the price in a breeze.

Yeah I wish my margins were that high. That said I'm pretty sure SWFA is not making a ton on this combo with this coupon. They ran one of these promos a year ago and the 10,000 like coupon was just a pair of free rings. The tally came no where near 10k which is why, imo, SWFA felt they could have such a huge discount up for grabs this time. I'm glad we hit 10k this time though, because this discount is FAR better than a set of rings Big Grin

Also, they've stated on SnipersHide that they'll allow you to upgrade to the 5-20 illuminated reticle and just pay the difference in price. To do so, you need to contact them directly, there's no way to do so with the online order system.

I actually just got off the phone with them for that very reason. There is a 4-6 week wait on the illuminated 5-20, the non illuminateds are shipping now. Well worth the wait and the price increase for me since I hunt when it is darker out.

My range is only 300 yards, and I have a budget scope...I don't see how I can be much more accurate with a different scope since groupings are quite small. Will a higher end scope like this only benefit me if I shoot at say 600+yards?

I will stick w/ my $400 Eotech. I can shoot accurately w/ it and better shooting/more training on my part is more important for my AR-15 abilities then spending $1.6k on an optic.

With a 300 yard range you would only really need the 1-6x for effective operation. The 5-20 would certainly benefit you at the 400 yard + ranges, but that is just magnification. The real key here that sets these scopes apart from budget lines is the first focal plane reticle, the quality of the construction and glass, and the adjustment and reticle ranging capabilities. Some will use these features, some will not.

My AR-15 has an Aimpoint with a removable magnifier on it. My Remington 700 is getting the 5-20x from this deal for 1000 yard shooting. The 1-6x is either going on an AR-10 or an AK. Different tools for different jobs.

Well, you would certainly not want the 5-20 on the ar-15, so after the discount you are technically only paying ~$500 for the 1-6x. Just sayin Big Grin

Curse you OP, you just cost me over $2000 in scope gear. However, I forgive you because you saved me over $700 with the code. With my savings I can go build me another AR now.
