Brother MFC-J825DW is a two-sided inkjet printer. It was one of 15 inkjet models that Consumer Reports recommended. Of those models, It had the second lowest ink cost behind the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.

It is now available for @$45 (plus the cost of a "$25 off $75 online" coupon - if you don't have one). Involves Live Chat with Staples Customer Service to price match the Office Depot price of $99.99

1. Buy a $25 of $75 coupon at e-junkie or e-Bay (nominally $2)

Just got off chat w/ staples after buying this deal, they wouldn't refund me $50, only $21 and change. I got this from the chat person:

Actually the HP had the lowest estimated ink/paper cost per month (@$5.50). The Brother was second (@$7.30). The remainder of the 15 recommended were $9&up. This is apparently from the April 2012 issue.

The only gripe I have with mine is that it doesn't show you a preview of the scanned image before scanning for real. Actually, the scan controls are generally more awkward than my old Dell, but it makes up for it in being generally easier to use.

Got this printer over Christmas last year, cheap ink deals from Selma are frequent. It's fully loaded, wireless N, scanning to computer, dropbox integration, google docs etc. Also narrow enough to fit in a cabinet so it stays hidden and dust free. Some people complained about the noise at night when it does self cleaning, but once inside cabinet, I have yet to hear it.
Only complaint is the low ink indicator seems to come on at 30-40% level.
