You can buy a $26 voucher for $13 that is good for two tickets at many theaters. Go to www.hollywoodmoviemoney.com and enter promo code 38741 and then your zip code to first see if theaters accept it in your area. I've used Hollywood Movie Money before with no problems. Note, this goes directly to the theater, so you also avoid the Fandango fees.

This is at Geico privileges, but the sign up is free and I don't think you have to use Geico.

https://spotondeals.geicoprivileg...id=&xfrom=

Update: So, you do have to actually pick a theater before printing the voucher (not the date or showtime, though). You have to purchase 2 tickets at one time. And, this voucher expires on 6/30/2012. Not as great, but still OK deal.

Enjoy

Would you mind giving explicit instructions to this dummy on how to convert? I am on Fandango, I have the $25 bucks in my cart but don't know where to put the Hollywood Money redemption code. there is no promo code box, and my redemption code doesn't look like a credit card #. TIA
Have to print the ticket first for the original order. It'll pop up in your browser, use the numbers on it just like a credit card when you check out. Make sure that you selected email instead of mail, because they charge a $2 shipping fee, so the total is $27, which is greater than the value of the card. Enjoy :]

Trying to convert this to Fandango bucks but keep getting the error:

Sorry. We were unable to receive authorization for your purchase from your bank. Please contact your credit card provider if you have any questions. A toll-free customer service number can usually be found on the back of the credit card. (Response Code = 89)

I typed the code at least three times, including in incognito mode, yet same error. My code looks like a credit card with an expiration date, security code and #.

Anyone have the same issue??
Mine failed because I tried to mail it, so the additional shipping charge came out to a higher value than the actual card was worth. Switch to email and see if you have any luck.

Yea I should have mentioned that I was using email the whole time. Thanks though.

I had the same problem, went back and changed date from 5/12 to 6/12 expiration, worked flawlessly from their. Idk why yours isn't working, try again make sure everything is accurate.
Yes I triple checked everything is accurate. You changed the expiration date? Hmmmmm....might need to try it. Right now, the expiration date on my ticket says "6/XX/2012".

By doing this, do you also gain the advantage of not having to buy 2 tickets at the same time?
Repped for the idea !!! worship

Yes I am using Chrome. I'll give Safari a try Weird how it would work in one browser and not the other.

FWIW: tried IE just for the hell of it. Didn't work either. Guess Safari is my last resort. I'll try it later.

I just refilled a Cinemark Gift Card in the amount of $26 dollars. And they don't charge convenience fees if you use a GC to buy tickets.

got one and converted to fandango bucks. Thanks for all the info. I chose bay terrace in NYC to get the cc code. I actually tried to use it to pay a bill but it didn't go through. Best to use it for fandango.

Does this mean purchases made with a Sony card get $2 off?
