Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 with Rack2 Filer $381.98 Shipped

Crap, doesn't work on S1500M, the Mac version. What am I thinking. Sweet, doesn't work on the S1500M, I can't afford to spend that much on a scanner today. Like OP, I've had my eye on that for awhile.

Bester, I hate to tell you but the S1500 works perfectly with the Mac drivers. In the past (e.g., with the S500) there were issues but now it's the same hardware.

I've got the older S510 model, great scanner. Would jump on this deal if you needed a high speed and quality scanner.

Doh! I haven't investigated the software situation in depth, but I guess that software is the difference in the Mac and PC versions. This deal is for the PC version with Rack2 Filer, which is a more "deluxe" version in that is has more PC software that I wouldn't use.

I am using it with mac and I have no problem with it. One thing is it does come with Acrobat X for only PC.

FYI This is the windows version, not for osx/mac
I dont know why they would do that i guess save on bundling software

Great scanner but: no twain drivers and, maybe more annoying at times, the pass through isn't straight.

Photos should be placed in carrier sheets ( P/N PA03360-0013 [buyfcpa.com] ) before scanning to avoid scratching.

Not sure if the Epson requires carrier sheets.

Just to let you know, this is an extremely good scanner. I've had it for almost 3yrs now and have never had any problems with it. It's expensive (though i got it for $297 used on ebay)...but it's well worth it for those of us who need to scan & save docs, fax docs via computer/internet, or save newspaper and magazine clips.

It's fast, but I actually wish it was even faster. Maybe a new version will come out soon with double or triple the scan speeds.

Overall, this has been one of my best office equipment investments ever!

Not sure if all the drivers/software is Win 7 compatible.
I've had this connected to an XP laptop for two years with awesome results. Verry pleased with speed and quality.
