Another reason why most people wouldn't use their TVs as a computer monitor is due to the size of the TV and the still relatively small resolution of 1080p. This is why when people want to get a monitor around 30 inches, they would get a Dell Ultrasharp U3011 with a higher resolution than a TV can give. This is also why they are very expensive. Yes if both displays have HDMI it is the exact same thing connecting to both. Though this display does not have HDMI. Also the obvious, the TV has a TV tuner installed and more inputs. monitor has arrived - box was an original box and didn't look used at all - all the dell refurb laptops i have purchased had huge REFURBISHED stickers on the back - this did not
back light on time 0 h 0 m power count 10ac 3 dc it is SO WIDE compared to my old 1901fp. Also is much brighter and colors seem more vivid. now how can i sell the 1901fp - i still have the original box. this was an awesome deal - not as good as the omega but close i wanted the 2412m but for $136 this is a perfect monitor. thanks again op.

Received both of mine. One was an A02 (Mfg August 2011; Backlight 8H; Power 8) & the other an A01 (Mfg June 2011; Backlight 31H; Power 9); both came with box of a cables even tho a pink slip said there weren't any. No dead pixels or light bleeds as far as I can tell; although the A01 display is slightly darker than the A02 using the same display settings. The A02 is connected by DVI as the A01 is VGA, but I also connected them vice versa & still the A01 is darker. When I say darker I think what I mean is the tint. Its kind of a bummer & is driving me somewhat nuts. Not sure If I can live with this, but I'll give it some time. For those that ordered multiple have you experienced the same issue?

BTW one thing i did notice is that when this monitor goes to sleep it takes a bit of time before it wakes up - my old dell 1901fp woke up immediately. This one takes much longer and also comes on way after the laptop screen does. Maybe I shouldn't let it sleep...

Higher end TVs are usually IPS and MVA panels but usually the bigger (you know, TV sized) ones.
Regarding the U2311H that I've been using for a few days now, there is this really annoying patch of backlight on the bottom right corner that pretty much makes any black in that area whiteish. That and also the whole left side of my monitor is slightly cooler than the right. Considering RMAing or returning it right now. |

Untrue, most Panasonics are IPS Alpha, regardless of price. I think LG often uses IPS in their displays as well. If you're a conservative and hate taxes:
http://www.bestoftheblogs.com/Home/43020 Why slickdeals I awesome: I post a deal, it gets reposted 30 minutes later. I report the repost, and slickdeals warns me for "not doing my own work" when all the new poster did was post incomplete info and add links an hour after they blatantly stole my post. Obviously, this is the right way to encourage me to post more deals. |
