plus in Texas we have had electricity deregulation for several years now, and the elimination of the one-company monopoly that exists in most of the rest of the country...I just checked www.powertochoose.org and I have exactly 252 different plans to choose from, from literally dozens of providers , whereas pre-deregulation we had a one-company monopoly...so that level of competition almost certainly played a role in reducing the impact of input increases. I actually this these are all some pretty valid concerns. This is absolutely no surprise to me in the least. Obama pre election stated that his issue with rising gasoline prices was not the final price whatsoever.. it was the speed it increased at. He wants to make the U.S. and the rest of the world (if possible) friendly to the environment. I don't think this is any secret.. Several times now he's made statements being fine w/ higher costs of utilities in exchange for cleaner production. If the economy had recovered as it probably should have we'd be staring down the barrel of astronomically high utilities commodities (depending on the country of origin). For example.. gas went down recently.. not because of some magic program.. but because of global economic situations and the value of the dollar bill. When the economy does recover many imported commodities will see an enormous boost in cost..

If the Euro lost value because of potential future chaos.. would not in turn the dollar gain value? Thus making oil.. cheaper!!! this image was from 3 years ago.. yet still holds true today.. ![]() now the inverse is happening.. Dollar rises against Euro: U.S. price of oil falls. but I assume some of you live on west coast which has their own distribution problems.. but gas is seasonally cheap as hell right now on the east coast. bitter Pennsylvanian clinging to my guns and religion.. Obama called it out in 08.

Do you think the Euro is the only other currency that matters? What about China and India? |

China's yuan is typically rather stable and follows the U.S. dollar to a certain extent.. why does oil typically show the inverse of the dollar?
US – 19.15 million barrels China – 9.06 million barrels Japan – 4.45 million barrels India – 3.32 million barrels Russia – 3.2 million barrels Saudi Arabia – 2.81 million barrels Brazil – 2.6 million barrels Germany – 2.44 million barrels South Korea – 2.38 million barrels Canada – 2.28 million barrels so the U.S. uses as much oil as China, Japan, India and Russia together. Thus why the USD typically leads the price of oil. today's gasoline average is $3.64. By industry standards we should be much closer to $4.50 - $5 by summer's end and about $5.50 next summer. |
No wonder it's amateur hour all day every day in the Obama administration when inputs have no effect on the pricing of outputs. The truth: Management at IRS can blame themselves and how they have chaotic and poor management, but God-forbid you, or I, or anybody else in America gets audited and doesn't have their ducks in order and s***-together, your ass is going to court or jail.
Shout out to Congressman Mike Kelly for stating it as it is... Link [realclearpolitics.com] |
