Thread Details

Just got an AMEX card a few months ago, and now have 75K points with the sign up promo. I was thinking about getting some gift cards with the points and sell the gift cards, but heard some people mentioning Rewards2Cash.com.

I never heard of the website before and their payout rate for points seems to be really good, have anyone used them before?

In order to sell AMEX points, we have to provide our AMEX online account access to the buyer? Like username and password??? Thanks!

Different people buy points in different ways, but pretty much yes. They need access to your points. Keep in mind you should and can change your password before giving it to them (so its not your standard password), and many places will pay you before they have access, so there is not a risk of them stealing your points.

Nope. Rewards2cash will send you a pdf with instructions on how to send the AMEX points. You do not have to surrender account access for AMEX.

Just completed 2 seperate deals with them. Checks cashed and no issues.

In my case, the broker did ask for my Amex login and password. He removed the points in two days, and I then changed the password. They can only transfer points in 1000-point increments. (Mine were transferred to Air Canada and British Air which are running specialls for Amex points)

Once there is a level of trust, you can have the money mailed to you and avoid the PayPal fee which is 3 percent.

I was offered significantly lower rates for US air than AA. I'm hoping they'll go up in value after the merge moves further along.

My recent transactions with Bruce (flighthunter) over the past week went perfectly. He's quick - typically a 24-hour turnaround, and he usually pays more than the others. But supply and demand is elastic so prices paid do vary based on the number of sellers looking to unload at any given time.

If you are selling amex points it almost makes sense to wait till a major airline offers a 50% match. Transfer the pts for the 50% match and then sell those miles. The additional airline miles could add an additional $1k to point value.

last bonus was 30% to british airways avios but the above poster is mistaken as the value of amex won't go up significantly when there is a bonus. Maybe 5% - 10% max as in most cases when amex is bought its transferred to singapore, air canada, or ANA which very rarely have bonuses
