remember this is good for stays up to 7/31...although if you book on 7/31 and stay for 1 week i still think you get 5k per night

the other "trick" is to make a reseravtion at a holiday inn nearby..use the points + cash option..pay like 70$ or so..then cancel the reservation..you won't get your money back but you will get like 6k points...

Actually, this list is the same list as back in April when it was last updated. I know this because I checked the list back then to book a hotel with my Priority Club Points. In fact, the hotel I booked was in Canada (Montreal, Quebec) and I highly recommend that hotel. I was about to redeem about 15,000 points + $40 for a one-night stay at that hotel but checked the list when it was updated in April and just my luck the Montreal hotel was listed. All rooms in that hotel has a kitchenette and the rooms are really spacious. The free breakfast at that hotel is better than the other HIE I've been to. But if you mean crappy as in not a lot of hotel location/selection, well, you could also say that about other U.S. states. For example, in Cali there's no 5,000 points hotel for the San Fran area. All the hotels listed for Cali are in the southern part of that state. But I'm just happy they even offer this promo because 5,000 points per night is a great deal.

I believe they update the list when the current list expires, so this list will update probably on August 1.
edit: Nevermind, some hotels I remember seeing when I checked the list in early April is not there anymore so I guess they update it whenever so you just have to keep checking to know.

It shows you all the participating hotels by location offering 5,000 points per night. You choose the participating hotel in the location you're planning to stay at and it takes you to the booking page. At the booking page, you fill in your booking dates and it will show you the correct promotional amount of points to redeem.

First-time poster, long-time lurker but I just had to share this because I don't see any of the four Oceania hotels in the OP's first post, but if you look here http://www.priorityclub.com/hotel...ks/oceania you'll see the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is also available through July 31 for 5,000 points per night.

Assuming someone has zero points with this chain, the maximum number of points you can buy is 50,000, so that's theoretically 10 nights. Buying the points in 1,000-point increments at $11.50 per 1,000 is $575.

I have no idea why a resort like this is included in their PointBreak, but it is. I did a test booking for 10 nights in mid-to-late July and it appeared to work for 50,000 points.

Paying cash for those same 10 nights, it's 708 Fiji dollars per night, which is $375.24 USD per night, so for 10 nights it would be about $3,750.

Buying points versus paying cash, you'd save about $3,175 over 10 nights.

I'm sure there are restrictions I'm overlooking that would prevent anyone from actually doing something like this, but in theory it's pretty slick.

Thanks for all the info here. This is all new to me and sounds great! Are there other point programs points that I can transfer into priority points? I don't have the minimum 5000 points needed to get more points at discounted rate. I had no idea priority points offered these 5000 point deals about every quarter!

Guess it was bought out. Nonethess it's a GREAT hotel property and 5000 points is INCREDIBLE for a stay there.

Definitely looks SLICK! Only problem is getting there! I definitely tried, but from Houston to Fiji is NO JOKE! Now if you are already going to Fiji for vacation, this is a no brainer!

look it up in the various miles/travel blogs...basically your "buying" points for cheaper then what buying points would normally cost

Looks like a lot of hotels are dropping off this list for some reason. The dropped hotels must have reached some kind of rewards night quota that ICHGroup requires of it's hotels.

The Pointsbreak hotels update every 4 months.

it runs continuosly. not sure what the exact formula is, but hotel start to fall off the list, normally the best ones go first. recently, the entire list has been updated every two months.
