Break Pads
I'm looking to manually replace the brake pads in my 07 Impala and I'm curious as to which set to purchase. I want to spend around $120. Anyone know of coupons or the name of a reliable brand? Thanks Last edited by c2mcclel; 05-23-2012 at 01:46 PM.. Reason: Misspelled word |

A pair should cost you no more than about $15. I just found them for your car as cheap as $7.88 for a pair. Please don't fall for the marketing myth that the more you pay, the better something is. Last edited by Brian1; 05-23-2012 at 06:34 PM.. Use wisely your power of choice.

There are some things to consider such as (speaking in generalities) organic are easier on rotors but create more brake dust. Things like that. For best deal, besides searching Hot Deals forum here, just check the obvious places online for prices. Autozone, Advance Auto, O'Reilly, even Amazon.com and Rock Auto. NAPA is generally higher priced but also generally carries better quality products imo. ymmv on that. Btw, if Advanced Auto has a good deal on them, you can use a $ off code from one of the many AA threads around here to get $ off on them. Joe Biden says Buy a Shotgun! Wackiness ensues! [youtu.be]

Since I keep my car for quite a while I spend a little more on brake pads. I make sure they have a life-time warranty so that the next time I change the pads it will be free. Higher quality pad will have less chance for squeaking (I'm no expert though!)....the last thing I want after doing a brake job is having my wife say something about the brakes squeaking. My auto shop place is autozone for all warrantied items so I don't have to remember where I bought the part from...it works for me even if i pay a few extra bucks...and they have all my previous purchases in their computer system.
Plan on always replacing your rotors every time you change your pads. |
