Be careful, these have a high rate of screens cracking. My father bought the 16gb model 2 weeks ago. Last week his briefcase fell with it very protected about 1 foot. The screen shattered. I started to look for a screen replacement and i found that first, it is cheaper to buy a new one. Screens cost 160 plus ship.
Second, a lot of people have had their screens break even though they were never dropped. The case is plastic and a softer plastic, so it flexes much more then i feel comfortable with. I have dropped my touchpad multiple times since i got it without any problems. I do have it in a case, but they should be able to handle small drops such as when you toss it on the couch or something. Buyer Beware! My Website: Diesel Power Products [dieselpowerproducts.com]

Android = Custom Rom... period. Often devices are released to the public with bloatware, logging and hardware restrictions. Developers are able to unlock so much potential from the devices resulting in a smoother, faster and overall more stable OS. Unfortunately, the Thrive doesnt have the developer support that Asus, Acer or Samsung have so there's not as much development out there but i know of a couple VERY good ROMS which have made me very happy. When ICS gets released and developers are able to play with it, i see the device only getting better. I GOTS me a Touchpad!!! And then i sold it cause it sucked so bad!!!!

It should also be noted that these havent been selling very well at full price. Toshiba simply didnt put out enough device for the money they were asking with the ipad and Fire out there as alternatives.
I have read online Toshiba has been selling these new on ebay for 200 to decrease inventory even though they say refurbished. Mine was in a new box, and looked like it was never used. But again, who knows? |

For this go-around, the deal is over:
"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." Found a nice little metal stand for $5.31 shipped. Had been searching for a non plastic one for a while. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380441533874 (unaffiliated w/seller) Last edited by fuzzyfacedog; 05-25-2012 at 03:18 PM.. Adopt a shelter pet.
