i've watched (and read more) news (and punditry) from a lot of sources, including those right of fox, and far left of msnbc. if you consider just cnn, fox and msnbc, obviously msnbc is furthest to the left, but if you go to a much wider vareity of sources the scale shifts further to the left and msnbc becomes pretty centrist in terms of news and opinion.

Fox makes attempts to be fair and balanced, even if they seldom are successful. MSNBC doesn't even make an attempt.....

Have you ever actually listened to the views that the hosts of shows, specificly primetime shows, on MSNBC espouse?
I watch and read quite a lot, directly from NBC, and their pundits.
As well as all the other news sources you listed.

surprised at how many people here watch MSM news channels...thought it was common knowledge they report on trivial shit like trayvon martin while things like NDAA, hr 347 and drones are being passed.

Do those of you that still watch those channels consider them "watchdog" news? When was the last time you saw someone question the wars on the 6 o clock tv news? Not talking about reports relegated to the internet or the 11PM news...cuz we all know 90% of people flip on the 6pm news when they get home from work.

I generally only browse on the weekends because I get most of my news from the Internet throughout the day. I don't usually flip on the news when I get home also because my wife HATES the news with a passion.

i actually don't watch any of them. i don't even have cable. i do listen to a few of their podcasts during the day at work.

For me, PBS is something worth funding. I am not talking about the political programs but things like NOVA, Nature and other educational programs. Bill Nye was and is still one of my heroes. I view PBS as a library-on-TV so it's worth funding with tax payer money imo. You can say there are similar shows that are on private cable channels (I love watching How It's Made when I go to my sister's house ) but I never had cable and still don't so I wouldn't have access to these programming if it wasn't for PBS.

MSNBC's primetime consists of Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O’Donnell.

The fact that you don't see their views as "particularly leftist", tells anyone all they need to know about your political biases.....
