 Display unit TV still covered under warranty? I recently purchased a 50-inch Panasonic plasma display unit for under $200 last week at Target. Does anyone know if it will still be covered by the manufacturer warranty? Thanks! |

Was the item sold with a limited warranty (30-90 day) or a full manufacturer warranty?
I know that you won't be eligible from double manufacturer warranty from most credit cards (many don't support demos/open boxes etc.) |

I bought an open box item from Frys (55" LG) and it came with the 1 year mfg warranty but I also bought a 5 year extended for like $100. The screen looks and performs great 1 year in.

It's covered. Did you check Panasonic's website for details?
BTW some TVs allow you to check the number of hours it's run since it was first turned on. One person found that a display model had accumulated over 8,000+ hours. I think displays are designed for 30,000 hours. |

displays are in display mode, that is much brighter than usual. Change to home mode.

The picture on it isn't as sharp as I think it should probably be and now I am having some audio issues. I have a 3-year old entry-level LG plasma that blows this thing away. All the reviews I have seen claim the TV should be great. My next step is to get a calibration disc, but I have a felling that it isn't going to help. |
