thanks to everyone for the replies. my internet connection kind of sucks right now (yay CLEAR) but I may upgrade to satellite or something soon. No Time Warner or U-Verse at my apartment complex.

finally got in on a block after putting it off for a while and good lord is this fast. I've been using irc for years and this blows it outta the water.

I'm pissed I've been getting an error that says, WARNING: Authentication missing, please enter username/password from Config->General into your 3rd party program:

I've been trying to figure this out for the last 3 hours and don't know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. I'm usring NZBMatrix and SABNzb

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about

I think the guy that mentioned he is downloading multiple things of the same thing is not doing something right. His screen should look like this when downloading something using Sab. You should only see your download once in the download que.

In the server settings under Sab did you enter the server settings correctly? User name and password should be unique, the other settings should look like this screen shot. The connections in the screen shot below are only at 2 but put yours at 5 and see if it maxes out your internet connection, if it doesn't then keep on upping the connection limit until you max out your connection. To find out how fast you should download at, go to speedtest.net and run a speed test on your connection speed.

I checked my settings. Something must be wrong. I did exactly as you recommended and am getting an error. I included the screen shot. I tried port 119 & 563 both had the same error. Pretty messed up. I hope I can get this working. I dropped $30 on this already and have nothing to show for it.

From your screenshot, I can tell you have the server wrong.

You have SSL checked and using port 563 which is for SSL, but you do not have the SSL host address correct.

Change the host to news-ssl.urlhasbeenblocked.com and then you should be good.

Ditto to the post above, you have the server address wrong. Look at my screenshot again.

In the screen shot you posted, what are the warnings that it is giving you? It shows that you have 3 warnings. I'm not sure what to tell you why it's doing that, go to the sabnzbd forums and post your screen shot and describe your problem. The developer or somebody will answer within a day or so and will know why it's doing that.

Before you do that though, try uninstalling Sabnzbd completely and reinstalling, see if that fixes it. Also, try a different internet browser to access the Sab GUI like IE or Chrome. It could be your internet browser settings, it could be sending the NZB file to Sabnzbd multiple times for some reason.

I haven't gotten into usenet before but is this one a good source of materials? Good variety and extensive amounts?

can anyone PM a good dummies guide they have used on how to use this......
