Syma S107/S107G R/C Helicopter *Colors Vary $18.88 FS Prime

A lot of fake Symas on Amazon. I even bought one direct from Amazon, not a 3rd party seller, and it was a fake.

This one is from Battery Superstore. Good reputation for delivering the real thing. Mine came from them, was real, and worked great!

Great little helicopters! My kids love them and are able to fly them ( 3 and 4 years old). Going to get another. This is about the best price you can get them at, anywhere from 15$ - 20$. Thanks!

Gave them as Christmas gifts to some friends' kids (older than yours), and they haven't lasted more than a couple weeks. Seems they derived some joy from running it into the ceiling and crashing it into walls. The power control (left joystick) is quite sensitive and hard for some kids to grasp (i.e. they shoot the helicopter up and then let go of the control in which it then crashes).

Got one for myself and I thought it was a total blast for about a week...haven't touched it since.

I've bought from 4 different sellers on Amazon and they were all genuine. There was still a variance in speed and motor noise between them though.

I fly a lot of 6 channel helicopters and I still like having these little guys around. They are fun toys to have around during family gatherings. I haven't had a whole lot of luck with Symas though. Instead, I would recommend one of these.

Great helicopter for kids at Christmas. All the boys (including my near middle-age brother in law) got S107Gs, and it was the hit of Christmas day. This year we'll get them for the girls, who wanted helicopters too (blame my spouse, who chooses girls' gifts :-)).

On the other hand, a more challenging but ultimately much more controllable heli, is Syma's new S800G. It uses a swashplate for pitch, roll and yaw, just like a real helicopter. With the S800G I can set up a rate of descent and easily set down in an area the size of a piece of notebook paper. Ignore user gripes about the controller; it works great when held correctly, even in larger hands. It's $23 at Amazon, and with its greater realism and longer learning curve, will keep you interested much longer than the venerable S107G.

I've found Syma's durability to be excellent overall. Sure, you can break it if you crash hard enough into a solid object, but OTOH, I've seen Symas take repeated catastrophic crashes and come out of each unscathed.

All the sellers are within a buck o' seven of each other. Not slick.

I've bought 4 Symas from Amazon. The yellow one was a fake and it fried my motherboard. I did a little search, actually a lot of searching, and this is rare but there are a few cases where charging the Syma heli(probably the fake ones) fried motherboards or the USB part of the motherboard. I advise people not to use their computer's USB port to charge these helis.
