Ive been using the blue oxiclean version for the past couple of years since I found the sale on this site and such favorable reviews. I used to only ever use Tide, but I am a total convert now. 1 box seems to last pretty much forever. I have a kenmore front loader and no problems using the powder. People with clumping problems probably arent using it correctly or their washer cant use powder. I know on ours the tray needs to be switched over to a powder setting. I only use it with cold water washing and have no problems getting clothes clean. Highly recommended.

http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop...20007#desc Here is what it says on detail page "Phosphate Free •Effectively removes normal soil and stains from laundry •Stain Treater " So I shouldn't buy it? But this sears stuff is also "non - phosphate" "Non-phosphate formulation is safe for septic systems". its 35+ lbs for 14 bucks.. really tempted. But if its not good, i'll skip. My clothes are all bought by SD deals...lol so not really worried. |

The Tide sets the standard, but using the ultra plus for the same price or less I can add an extra scoop for a pre wash; Oxy Clean or not and or clorox 2 etc or not--depending what that load needs AND fabric softener. Makes more sense for me at least. (5 kids) Obviously if I could get Tide (without P&G's high advertisement and endorsements added to price) and 50% off that lower amount I would be all over it. . . Sewage treatment plants are fitted to process phosphorus (My grandfather even helped me with this)..They can actually use the algae build-up to create renewable energy..Cool huh? Washing machines use the phosphate content to clean their pipes out (Soap residue build-up does gather over time), the substitution chemicals they use to attempt the same job that the phosphorus does by itself both pollutes the environment in the same way and leaves soapy residue on your clothes that adds up over time..I've compared any USA brand to random brands that contain phosphates and found the fading effect to be significantly less. Plus they just don't clean in the same way. Dishwasher detergents for the most part stopped using phosphates a while ago too (Not for me..the brands imported from canada still use them). This is one of those things that americans were fooled to believe, whereas countries like europe and canada and mexico and..pretty everybody except america were never put through this moral panic. And what's the difference? Nobody gets a free ride thinking they're doing their part to save the planet without a lot of misconception..When all is said and done, if you're not polluting the planet with algae growth, then you're doing it by driving your car or using plastic bottles or household chemicals or aluminum cans or fertilizers made by monsanto or something to that effect. I don't even drive a car, so we can pretty much call my debt to the planet even..I'll have clean clothes, save money, and not be fooled by politicians from the 80's that are long gone. Here's more food for thought: RBST Milk as of now, is only approved for use in the USA (With very few exceptions) It's banned by the EU, Canada blacklisted it, and Mexico does not take kindly to companies like monsanto. So why america? Because america is very VERY slow to adapt and change their way of thinking. Once they've been told something, americans never forget and we trust that companies are not lying to us when in fact they are. Last edited by riverstyxxx; 05-28-2012 at 03:59 PM.. |

Ariel is a very popular brand that's easy to find, but avoid the "Ariel USA" version..There's a reason why the label says "Not for use outside of USA", it doesn't work at all. |

Short version: The law was written to stop big companies from polluting but ended up being exempt because they had money and got their way..Instead, you all got screwed and you still believe what they told you 30 years ago. Last edited by riverstyxxx; 05-28-2012 at 04:30 PM.. |
