64 Bags of Mulch on the Ground...

64 bags of mulch. Take one down...


Put down fresh bark mulch to cover the bare dirt and pine straw that was there previously. 63 bags = 126 cu. ft, probably 500-600 sq ft covered. Still have one area (about 200 sq ft) to finish, but might do landscape rocks there.

How does it look? I'm in the middle of killing all life on my lawn, by the way that Spectracide stuff that was all the rage for $1 at Walmart only makes my weeds grow faster. Once I'm done, I was planning to lay down pebbles but I've though about mulch instead.

We had to kill the entire lawn before we got started. Then I had an irrigation system installed and seed planted. I was hesitant to go with seed rather than sod, but sod would have been around $3k more. The grass isn't perfect; there are some bare spots, but I'm working on it. We took out most of the plants the builder had planted - transplanted some and toss out some, then added a bunch of roses, hydrangeas, a Japanese Maple and various other plants. It doesn't look that impressive yet since we have just done this over the past few weeks, but next year it should look great.

Ah.... you're going with grass. I thought you were just going to lay down mulch.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to have some place deliver it to you by the cubic yard? I bought 24 bags and I thought that was crazy.
