Change Slick Deals - Forum Column from Last Post to Newest Thread
On the Forums page, I don't find the Last Post column very useful. Often, the last post is of a thread several days old and not much interest to me. I would like to be able to see if any new threads have been posted since my last viewing. Even better would be to allow users to select their columns of info. I am a great fan of SD and usually have an window devoted to it. Having a convenient way to see what new threads have been posted with a simple refresh function would be... convenient. |

yeswarchief,
Neither the new posts nor the new deal posts searches for the latest new thread for each Forum. They show what has been newly posted, but that doesn't usually interest me. I routinely check for new SDs, New Deals, Freebies, and Free Subscriptions. Currently, I have to go to each Forum to see if a new thread/deal has been posted. However, if the Forums page could show the new threads (or lack of), then I would not need to go to each Forum to check. Some of the deals go quickly, especially the better ones. And I don't mind working to catch a deal early, but would not object to an easier way of monitoring what's new. For example, I am monitoring new deals, coupons, freebies and free subscriptions all day. If I could refresh the Forums page and see that the latest new deal thread is "Leather Chairs...," that I have already seen, then I would not need to open the forums page to see that there are no new threads. However, in Coupons if the latest thread is one that I am not familiar with, I would open the Coupons page to investigate the new thread. I don't know if I am not expressing myself adequately, but I'm trying. Last edited by mrlobo; 10-13-2004 at 12:25 AM.. |

"This guy's walking down the street when he falls in a hole.
"A doctor passes by and the guy shouts 'Hey you. Can you help me?' The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole. "Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up. The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole. "Then a friend walks by. The friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, 'Are you stupid? Now we're both down here.' The friend says, 'Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out.'" |

Thanks for the suggestions. My idea is not to have to click on a forum, but to see the latest thread posted on http://www.slickdeals.
Also, I really don't want to monitor all new posts, but all new threads (to catch new deals). Do I sound lazy? |
