first hand experience being born there. Taiwan also has about the population of NY on the size of long island. not to mention many of the older folks prefer alternative medicine to western/scientific medicine Intel i7 2700k | Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z| 16 GB Gskill Ripjaw X | Corsair H80 | 2x EVGA GTX 670 FTW | Crucial M4 256 GB SSD | Samsung F1 1TB | WD Black 2TB | Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | WD Green 2TB | Creative Titanium HD | Sony BD Drive | OCZ ZX850 | CM Storm Trooper | Dell U2711 | Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition | Filco Majestouch 2 Metallic Blue MX Blue | Razer Naga Epic | Creative Gigaworks T40 II | Windows 7 Ultimate

The news story says "Trydal was admitted to the hospital and given four doses of antivenom over a 24-hour period." The hospital response to the news story says "The patient required 10 units of the antivenom and a night in the Intensive Care Unit". Maybe a dose consists of more than 1 vial. Regardless, they both agree he was only in the hospital for 1 day unless I missed it and somewhere else it says that he was in there for 2. And as for your $100K precedent you posted, you left out the follow up to it in that thread
So I guess I'm not the only one to think that's ridiculous. |

As for it being better, everyone in Taiwan gets health care. Not everyone gets it in the US. So I think the people that don't get health care in the US would disagree with you. But let's look at some stats. Infant mortality: Taiwan 5.1/1000. US 5.98/1000 (both of which suck by the way) Life expectancy: Taiwan 79.35 years. US 78.2 years. The US in general is dead last among developed nations. http://www.reuters.com/article/20...SU20100623 |

Im attracted to the possible cost savings (and economic/business benefits) of a universal health care system.....however I am also hesitant to increase the power of government (especially inserting it directly into health decisions) and infringement upon liberty.
The polls were not skewed, biased, oversampled or wrong. I was. There was no wave, no landslide, I was wrong about that too. Nate Silver is the gold standard of polling analysis.

![]() Keep in mind that the 2 you keep talking about (Switzerland and Germany) are 20 and 16 respectively. |

Regardless, we already have all that. Most insurance companies just follow along with medicare. If medicare will cover something, so will they. If medicare doesn't, they won't either. All that "death panel" talk by some people did a disservice to the entire debate. What do you think insurance companies do now? |

Are you going to prove it for him? While you're at it you might as well prove your own claim: |
