After installing the Online Simple Start software, the 9-digit Company ID can be found by clicking the "My account" link in the product. The Company ID is in the upper right hand corner OR under your company name on the confirmation email receipt received after product activation.

Pre-submit: The rebate can be pre-submitted at www.intuitrebates.com [intuitrebates.com] under "Get Your Rebate". Make sure to write "Company ID" followed by the company ID generated during the product activation process on the rebate form as there is no line for it on the pre-submit form.

Quickbooks rebate helpful tidbits:

• Remember: it's a mail-in rebate, to Intuit. No Staples Easy Rebates on this one folks. Read the rebate form terms; cross your t's and dot your i's, and mind the "Company ID"...
• One rebate per year for this product, so double-check that you haven't submitted a similar rebate before, regardless of store (since Intuit's processing this). Keep an eye out on your past purchases/rebates: Staples had a deal on this last Feb, and Newegg and OD have similar deals on this right now.
• Valid rebate submission needs a "Company ID", which Intuit *gives to you* after activation. Activation is mandatory and requires opening up the box, so probably no legit resell (nothing easy anyway).
• No software to install--the app is all online via web browser. (still needs activation for rebate though)
• To activate open up the box or check your email to get the Product Key and License Code. No need to pop in the disc, it'll just send you to www.quickbooksonline.com/activate
• Activation takes 10 minutes tops at this point, assuming the Product Key/License Code submission button works...
• ...If the activation page's button doesn't complete (you'll probably get an error popup), try later or give customer service a call. There's the number on the box, and another phone number that someone else mentioned in this thread that I don't have on me.
• Email address already in use and not letting you activate? You may already have another Intuit account using this email, including Mint. No way around it, just use a different email address. You might try phoning it in too if you really must use your email address.
• And finally, to get your "Company ID" (after activation): log into quickbooks online [intuit.com], go to top right corner and click "Your Account", click "Your Account" in the drop-down, go on the left side of the main view
  and click "Company Info", and the Company ID is in the top-left of that box.
• Write in the Company ID where there's a line for it on the rebate form, along with all the other information required.
• You can try pre-submitting the rebate online [google.com], but it really lags. If you do, you'll still need to get the Company ID on there somewhere and you probably still need to postal-mail something in.
