Refund of Amex Gold annual fee denied within 60 days due to "use after fee billed"
I just attempted to close my AMEX Gold Rewards card in an attempt to recoup the annual fee. I was ultimately told by the representative that I couldn't be refunded the fee due to the fact that I used the card once after the fee was billed. I didn't even see or pay the bill until a few weeks later and didn't it again after that, but she said it didn't matter.
Do I have any recourse at this point? I am still within 60 days of when the annual fee was billed.

I like my golds card, I sent a secure message and hopefully they refund the fee without closing my acct. I'll report back.
