Travelling to Seattle and Vancouver BC

My gf and I took a weekend trip to Seattle a few months ago. We stayed at Hotel Vintage Park in the downtown area. There were plenty of cool places to see and eat within walking distance. A lot of fun!

We only stayed for 2 full days and that was enough to explore the area. What do you plan on doing there for your stay?

Downtown Vancouver is really safe. The bums come out on Granville at night but they're harmless. Things get seedier the more east you go once you get past Habour Centre (except for Gastown). I probably wouldn't hang out in Chinatown at night.

If you're going during hockey season, you could check out the Vancouver Giants. It's a junior league, but tickets are like $20 compared to the hundreds you'll pay for Canucks. Granville Island is a pretty cool place to shop. A lot of Vancouver is sightseeing. You can walk through Stanley Park and along the Seawall into the UBC area. North Vancouver is a quick ferry ride away and you can enjoy dinner then look back at downtown. Vancouver also has the standard assortment of aquariums and museums.

take a drive up to whistler (2 hrs north??) its a great drive lots of little places to stop and take pictures and just take in the beauty,

For great italian food in Seattle, I would recommend checking out the Pink Door! They're located in the Pike Place Market (which is fun to explore on its own) and, depending on the night, they have live shows (burlesque, acrobats, etc.). Alternatively, find the Marination Mobile (korean fusion food truck) or hit up Molly Moon's (currently has the famous local cheesemaker Beechers as a flavor?!).

Vancouver - Granville Island/market is a lot of fun to explore (similar to Pike Place Market).

Capilano Suspension bridge is beautiful (and slightly terrifying- as it is a swinging bridge way high up ) and fun for both adults/kids. I believe they also recently added the 'cliff walk' which has glass-type flooring in some spots so you can look directly down. Pretty cool!

The Vancouver aquarium is a fun stop with kids too. It is located near Stanley Park - which, if you have not been, is a great, great place to take a stroll.

If you're driving, I'd also recommend popping by Richmond for dim sum

There is no good reason for anyone (especially tourists) to visit Richmond. If you want good Chinese food, visit Szechuan Chongqing on Commercial Drive at 12th avenue (Commercial Drive is an area you should be visiting anyways). Their deluxe tan-tan noodle soup is the best soup I've ever had.

I was just in Seattle about two weeks ago. I flew in early before I left for a cruise to Alaska. It was a great experience. I reccomend getting breakfast at this place called Lola. It was absolutely the best experience and the food was amazing.

Don't pay for the Capilano Suspension Bridge (long lines and expensive)... go to lynn canyon instead. Lynn canyon is free and just as good. Very beautiful!

Yes, i went to Lynn Canyon and its almost the same, just shorter, but still exciting when walking across it!
