disney world tickets on Craigslist?

sangleweb 729 50 May 31, 2012 at 08:10 PM
Hi all,
Any one experience in getting into Disney World in FL using seller in Craigslist? I am planning to be there in 2 weeks and want to save some $ . These sellers claims that you only pay them after you are inside the park so I think it is pretty safe. Any one has gone through this and don't mind share your thoughts. TIA.

Unused Disney park tickets are all over. Some work, some don't. We have a pair of unused 2 day unlimited passes that don't expire. Most of the tickets you see are in this category. Some are the special tickets restricted to FL residents and sometimes they ask for ID. You can save a lot though. As with all CL stuff, be VERY careful!

I am being careful so I don't intend to pay until I get inside the park. I'll share my experience once I get back. Thx.

Be extremely, I mean extremely careful. Many of the Craigslist sellers don't want you to pay until you get inside the park because they want you to hand them the ticket back. What they are doing in this case is selling each day of a multi day park hopper ticket. Not only is this illegal, but it's also against the rules of Disney World, and if you are caught doing this, they will kick you out and not let you in the same day even if you go to the ticket booth and purchase a legitimate ticket. Not only that, but when the seller takes back the ticket, that means if you leave the park for any reason, you can't get back in because you won't have access to the ticket, and you need both a ticket and a hand stamp for re-entry. Buying these so called "used" tickets on Craigslist is not only a waste of money, but again against Disney World's rules.

With proper research and ahead planning, you can find a discount on multiple day tickets that are legitimate rather than these "fraud" tickets that people are selling all over the place. There are even people on E-bay who pull this same scam. No legitimate ticket person would sell you tickets and let you pay once you are inside of the park unless they wanted the tickets back. Common sense! If you can't afford to buy Disney World tickets, then maybe look for a sale in your area, buy tickets off E-bay that are a fair price but lower than full price, or wait until you can actually afford the tickets before planning your trip.

These days you need second mortgage to be able to afford Disney (and other) theme park tickets...and don't get me started on the cost of food once you're in the park.

This is exactly what I am looking for, an explanation of how these works before I commit to this. I didn't know how it works until now.
