Asset Allocation
I’m in my early 20’s and am looking to readjust my asset allocation. I’m currently putting 20% of my salary in a 401k (no match) and 10% in checking. I’m a bit worried I’m not saving enough because I took a 25% cut in pay to relocate and get into a more stable career.
Debt $0
Various Stocks and ETF (JNJ, USB, TOT, OIL, GE) $5k
Mutual Funds $25k US Gov’t bonds
$20k Blue Chips
Checking $15k
CD $2k
EE/I Bonds: $18k
For my age do you think I’m overweight bonds and underweight equities? Is my savings rate adequate?
