I've sailed Carnival, Royal, Norwegian, Celebrity and Disney & what I have discovered is there is a major snob factor for many, with RCCL people being the first to hold their noses when discussing Carnival. Pay no attention.

I took more than 20 cruises for the past 10 years ( Norwegian, Disney and RCCL) .. by far Carnival is the worst. Seriously.. I took their mediterranean cruise last year and that was my fourth mediterranean cruise. OMG.. their food was horrible, at last my husband refuse to eat. You know I give them creative point, they can turn a day old dish to a brand new dish on the next day. We ended up go to their specialty restaurant to eat but they don't have a lot of specialty restaurant like Norwegian. But by all means.. try it yourself. But the above post is right.. couldn't pay me to go on carnival. My family only have 10 days vacation days every year.. we won't waste it for Carnival!!
